Thai Princess Sirindhorn Stays At Shangri-La Hotel, Wuhan

The daughter of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, "China Hands" Princess Sirindhorn, stayed with her envoy at Shangri-La Hotel, Wuhan on 9 April 2013 at 12:50 p.m.

The princess is very interested in Chinese culture and has visited Hubei three times.  This time, she visited Wuhan, referred to in famous writer Chi Li's novel as "her city".  Sirindhorn is bound to Wuhan.  "I translated the food of some chapters in her book, and have also been to the Wuhan several times, but no chance to taste authentic Hubei food......" the princess said during the launch of the book’s Thai version in Bangkok on 28 March 2013.

During the reception, the Chinese executive chef of Shangri-La Hotel, Wuhan personally attended to her meals, which were distinctive Hubei snacks and dishes such as Wuhan Hot-and-Dry Noodles, Bean Curd, Lotus Pond Dish and Ribs Lotus Root Soup.  The culture and heritage of the ancient city slowly came out of the book and became a more vivid and more abundant image in the mind of the princess.
