Terms and Conditions

We set out below updated terms and conditions that govern the contractual relationship between Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited (“the Company” or “Shangri-La”) and Shangri-La Circle Members. The updated terms and conditions take effect on 28th April, 2022 (“Effective Date”) and will replace the Shangri-La Circle (i.e., Golden Circle) terms and conditions before the Effective Date. If you continue to participate as a Shangri-La Circle Member on or after the Effective Date, you are agreeing to the updated terms and conditions below (“Terms and Conditions”).

A. GLOSSARY

Term  Definition 
"Active Member"  A Member who has made a stay on a Qualifying Room Rate at any Participating Hotel, or a Qualifying Transaction that earned or redeemed Shangri- La Circle Points within a 36-month period.
"Airline Miles"  Any currency, credits, kilometres and airline points of Airline Partners.
"Airline Partners"  A participating Airline Partner as published on the Shangri-La Circle website.
"Airline Partner Programme"  The frequent flyer programme managed and/or operated by Airline Partners.
"Child Nominee"    Individuals nominated by a Member in accordance with Section L. “Family Membership” below and who are below 18 years old. Child Nominees will become Nominees when they reach the age of 18, and may benefit from a Member's redemption of Points once they become a Member of Shangri-La Circle.
“Event Contract”  An event contract entered into between a hotel and the Event Owner regarding the Qualifying Event.
"Eligible Event Charge"  The aggregate Event Spend before the deduction of any event credit.
“Event Owner”  The company or persons for whom the Event Planner is organising the Qualifying Event.
"Event Planner"  A Member who organises a Qualifying Event pursuant to an Event Contract.
"Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards"  The Event Rewards programme as more specifically detailed in Section M.
“Event Qualifying Room Rate”  A meeting and events group rate determined by a hotel excluding global/local corporate negotiated rates, rates booked through tour operators, wholesale rates, negotiated rates to airline crew and any other special rates expressly excluded from the Event Rewards Programme.
“Event Spend”  All Qualifying Event related spending itemised on an Event Contract including room spend at Event Qualifying Room Rates, function room rental, related catering, meeting and conference packages but excluding any expenses payable to third party suppliers and after deduction of any event credit.
"Inactive Member"  Any Member who has not recorded any account activity for a continuous period of 36 months.
"Member"  Any person who is a member of Shangri-La Circle.
“Membership Year”  The period from 1 January to 31 December of each calendar year from the date the Member is enrolled, upgraded, renewed or downgraded into his/her current Membership Tier.
"Nominee"    Individuals nominated by a Member in accordance with Section L. “Family Membership” below and who are 18 years old or above. Nominee must complete the Family Membership registration process and must also be a Member of Shangri-La Circle in order to be eligible to benefit from a Member's redemption of Points.
"Non-Qualifying Room Rate"  Any room rate other than Qualifying Room Rate and Event Qualifying Room Rate including, but not limited to, all rates (including prepaid wholesale rates, non-discounted and other rates) booked through a channel other than a Qualifying Room Reservation Channel such as an online travel agent, wholesale packages, groups and tours, airline and/or travel industry discounts, negotiated rates to airline crew paid by the airline and rates paid for residences or serviced apartments.
"Non-Room Awards"  An award for Dining or Spa voucher to be used at a Participating Hotel, which may be redeemed by using the required number of Points.
“Non-Participating Venues”   Any Hotel, Restaurant, Bar and Spa Outlets and Health Club that does not participate in Shangri-La Circle where programme benefits do not apply.
"Participating Hotels"  Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Kerry Hotels, JEN Hotels and Traders hotels and such other hotels participating in Shangri-La Circle, published on the Shangri-La Circle website from time to time.
"Partners"  Any partner, other than Airline Partners, providing third party services for Shangri-La Circle.
“Qualifying Event”  A meeting, incentive, conference, exhibition, catering, banqueting or group event (i) involving 10 or more paid rooms at an Event Qualifying Room Rate on at least 1 single night at a Participating Hotel or (ii) at a Participating Hotel with a minimum Eligible Event Charge of USD 3,000.
"Qualifying Incidental Charges"   Any spend on food and beverage, laundry and full-priced spa treatment charged to a Member's room at a Participating Hotel.
"Qualifying Nights"  Room nights at a Participating Hotel paid at Qualifying Room Rates that will count towards qualification for the next higher tier, and renewal of the current tier of the Shangri-La Circle Membership status.
"Qualifying Room Rate"   Any published room rate of Participating Hotels found on the Shangri-La Circle website or booked through Qualifying Room Reservation Channels including Rack Rate, Flexible Rate, BonusChoice, Advance Purchase, CustomStay, hotel package, negotiated Corporate rate, convention or meeting rate, Long Stay Rate, Room Awards Redemption Rate and such other room rates as the Company may at its sole and absolute discretion determine to include or exclude from time to time as Qualifying Room Rate.
"Qualifying Room Reservation Channel"   Means Shangri-La’s official hotel room reservation channels such as Shangri-La website, Shangri-La Circle Mobile App, Shangri-La WeChat Mini Programme, Shangri-La official telephone reservation hotlines, through Participating Hotels directly and other Shangri-La approved hotel room reservation channels as may be specified by Shangri-La from time to time. Unless otherwise specified by Shangri-La, third party online platforms, online service providers or online travel agents, such as Expedia.com, Booking.com, TripAdvisor.com, Ctrip.com, Fliggy.com etc, are not Qualified Room Reservation Channels.
"Qualifying Spend"   Any spend on food and beverage or full-priced spa treatment at any Participating Hotel when staying and as a non-staying guest, or purchases made on Shangri-La-Boutique
“Qualifying Transaction”   Any hotel stays on Qualifying Room Rates or Qualifying Spend or Redemption at a Participating Hotel or Partner that results in an activity on the Members’ account.
"Redemption Awards"   Any award of free room nights, Dining or Spa vouchers, Shangri-La merchandises or 3rd party merchandise which may be redeemed by using the required number of Points.
"Redemption Group Nominee" or "Nominee"  Individuals nominated by a Member in accordance with the section title "Redemption Group" below, who are thereby eligible to benefit from a Member's redemption of Points.
“Review Process”  All Nominees must go through a Review Process after being nominated by Members in order to be registered in the Members’ Family Membership (subject to the Company’s rights in Section L(i)). Nominee will not be allowed to enjoy any form of redemption by Member until the Review Process and registration for Family Membership have been completed.
"Room Awards"  Means an award of free room nights at any Participating Hotel which may be redeemed by using the required number of Points by a Member.
"Shangri-La Circle Points" or “SLC Points” or “Points"  The unit of measurement of Shangri-La Circle awarded to Members in connection with a Qualifying Transaction.
"Shangri-La Circle" or "SLC"  The frequent guest programme operated by Shangri-La Group.
“Shangri-La Boutique”  Refers to the online Shangri-La Boutique.
“Tier Points”   Means the unit of measurement that will count towards qualification for the next higher tier, and renewal of the current tier of the Shangri-La Circle Membership status. Tier Points do not include Bonus Points that are awarded.

B. GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Shangri-La Circle (formerly Golden Circle) is a frequent guest programme managed and operated by the Company.
  2. Shangri-La Circle is open to individuals aged 18 and above. The Company reserves the right to grant or refuse Membership at its sole and absolute discretion. Membership will not be extended to corporations or other legal entities.
  3. Upon successful enrolment, Members automatically receive Gold Membership.
  4. A Membership number will be issued to newly enrolled Members.
  5. Membership and Membership cards are non-transferable and may only be used by the Member. Membership cards are the property of the Company and a fee may be charged for replacing lost or damaged cards.
  6. Members who make hotel stay reservations at Participating Hotels at Qualifying Room Rates through Qualifying Room Reservation Channels will enjoy Shangri-La Circle benefits and privileges during their stay at the Participating Hotel, including for example, Shangri-La Circle Points and Diamond-tier or other tier-specific privileges set out in these Terms and Conditions. Members who make reservations for hotel stays through other reservation channels will not be able to earn Points and enjoy Shangri-La Circle benefits and privileges. If in doubt, Members should contact Shangri-La Circle Member Services for clarification before making reservations.
  7. The Company reserves the right to suspend, withdraw and/or discontinue Membership rights and benefits, including, without limitation, suspension of a Member’s access to electronic login accounts or de-activation of such login account, if the Company has reasonable grounds for suspecting, in its sole discretion, that a Member has: (i) acted in a manner inconsistent with applicable laws or regulations; (ii) acted in a manner inconsistent with, breached or violated any of these Terms and Conditions; (iii) engaged in any fraudulent, dishonest or deceptive behaviour, theft, misconduct or wrongdoing in connection with his/her Membership account, including without limitation, involving Reward redemption or other Member benefits; or (iv)failed or refused to pay any bills or accounts due to the Company or any Participating Hotel.
  8. The measures set out above may result in a Member’s loss of accumulated Points, the cancellation of Shangri-La Circle benefits and privileges and/or a downgrade of Shangri-La Circle Membership tiers. In addition, the Company shall have the right to take appropriate administrative and/or legal action, including, without limitation, criminal prosecution, as it deems necessary in its sole discretion.
  9. The Company reserves the right to modify the programme structure, benefits and other features, including these Terms and Conditions, or to discontinue Shangri-La Circle at any time. Although the Company will use reasonable effort to notify Members of material changes to Shangri-La Circle and/or to these Terms and Conditions by updating the same on the Shangri-La Circle website, it is the responsibility of Members to keep themselves up-to-date in respect of the Shangri-La Circle and these Terms and Conditions. Any use of Shangri-La Circle by a Member will be deemed as acceptance of any amendments. The Company and/or Partners will not be liable for loss or damage resulting from any amendments to Shangri-La Circle or to these Terms and Conditions.
  10. All interpretations of these Terms and Conditions shall be at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.
  11. If the English version of these Terms and Conditions or any Shangri-La Circle collateral materials be available in other languages, the English version shall prevail if any discrepancy arises. In case of dispute over the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions, the Company’s decision is final.
  12. The following hotels, restaurants and bars are considered Non-Participating Venues.

    7. Ensue at Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen
    8. GIADA Garden at China World Hotel, Beijing
    9. Jinyue at China World Summit Wing, Beijing
    10. Mott 32 at Shangri-La Toronto
    11. Red Chicken and Dockyard at Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong
    12. Indikaya Restaurant & Bar, The Avenue Club and Zula The Kitchen & Bar at Shangri-La Dubai

  13. Spas outlets considered as Participating Venues are listed here. Shangri-La Circle reserves the right to amend the list of participating outlets at any time without prior notice.

C. MEMBERSHIP, ENROLMENT & TERMINATION

  1. Membership enrolment can be made online at the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Circle Mobile App, or Shangri-La WeChat Mini Programme or by using one of the enrolment QR codes which are available at the Front Desk and food and beverage outlets of any Participating Hotel. Upon enrolment, Members may use the Membership number issued to them to earn Points.
  2. Applicants must carefully read the Terms and Conditions before submission of their enrolment and an application will only be accepted if the applicant confirms his/her agreement to these Terms and Conditions. An applicant will be deemed to have agreed to the Terms and Conditions by submission of the enrolment form. Notwithstanding the forgoing, an applicant will not become a member unless and until he/she is issued a Membership number.
  3. There is currently no enrolment fee for Shangri-La Circle Membership.
  4. Members will become an Active Member of Shangri-La Circle by making a stay at Qualifying Room Rate at any Participating Hotel or a Qualifying Transaction that earned or redeemed Points within a 36-month period.
  5. Membership and Points have no monetary face value and may not be sold, bartered, transferred, exchanged for cash or otherwise by any means among the Members or between Member and non-Member. Any Points which are subject to an unauthorised sale, barter, transfer or exchange will be forfeited and the Members involved will have their Membership terminated. All of their benefits and privileges shall cease forthwith and their Points will be forfeited immediately.
  6. Joint accounts and multiple enrolments by a single person are not allowed.
  7. Shangri-La Circle membership is strictly personal. Points cannot be transferred, assigned, bartered, bequeathed, or otherwise transferred by a Member to another person, unless otherwise stated in these Terms and Conditions.
  8. A Member may only hold one Membership account at any time. If a Member inadvertently creates a duplicate account, the Company reserves the right to merge and consolidate the details of the Member into the Member’s earlier account. Any Points earned on the duplicate account will be transferred to the earlier account, retaining their original expiry date. Shangri-La Circle is not responsible for any loss of Member benefits and/or services due to duplication of Membership.
  9. Points and all rights of title to and property in such Points, remains at all times with the Company.
  10. Upon issue of Points and Shangri-La Circle redemption voucher to a Member, the Member automatically assumes all risks on the Points and/or redemption voucher (as the case may be), including with respect to theft, unauthorised or fraudulent use of such Point and/or redemption voucher. The Company is not obliged to re-issue or replace the Points and redemption vouchers.
  11. Membership accounts which have been inactive for a continuous period of 36 months will be closed if not re-activated through a qualifying stay or spending at any Participating Hotel within 12 months from the date of the inactive status.
  12. Members who wish to discontinue their Membership must provide written notice to the Company and return their Membership card to the Shangri-La Circle Member Services, upon which all benefits and privileges of the Member shall cease and all outstanding Points of such Member will become void.
  13. The Company reserves the right to terminate any Membership at its sole and absolute discretion, at which point all unused Points, benefits and privileges will be cancelled. Such termination shall be without prejudice to the accrued rights and remedies of the Company, Participating Hotels, Airline Partners, Partners and the Member.
  14. Membership will end automatically upon the death of the Member and Points earned but not redeemed at the time of death, as well as benefits and privileges will be cancelled. Points do not constitute personal property and may not be bequeathed or otherwise treated as personal property.
  15. If a Member has obtained Points, Redemption Awards or other products or services through fraud, dishonesty or deceit, or has abused Shangri-La Circle benefits and awards or committed other misconduct then the Member shall without limitation be liable to the Company, Participating Hotels, Airline Partners or Partners for the full price of the Redemption Awards or other products or services obtained together with all costs and damages incurred or suffered by the Company, Participating Hotels, Airline Partners or Partners as a result thereof. Under such circumstances, the relevant Points, Redemption Awards or other products or services will be forfeited, and the Members involved will have their Membership terminated. All of their benefits and privileges shall cease forthwith, and their Points will be forfeited immediately.
  16. Membership cards must be returned to the Company upon the termination of Membership of any Member.

D. EARNING POINTS

i. Earning Points – General Conditions

  1. Points may be awarded for stays at Participating Hotels at Qualifying Room Rates booked through Qualifying Room Reservation Channels, on Qualifying Incidental Charges, Qualifying Spend and for Qualifying Events. No Points will be awarded for hotel stays booked through other reservation channels. If in doubt, Members should contact Shangri-La Circle Member Services for further clarification on exclusions and/or limitations before making reservations.
  2. Members may choose to earn Points or Airline Miles in one of the Airline Partner Programmes upon check-in at a Participating Hotel when paying at non-discounted or corporate rate which falls within the meaning of Qualifying Room Rate. Members who have not selected between earning Points or Airline Miles prior to check-out will earn, by default, Points. Members cannot earn both Points and Airline Miles for the same stay. The details regarding the earning of Airline Miles are indicated later in these Terms and Conditions. Credit of Airline Miles can be made only on one Airline Partner Programme for each stay at non-discounted or corporate rates.
  3. Points are earned at the rate of 1 (one) Point per 1 (one) U.S. Dollar of spend at Qualifying Room Rate, Qualifying Incidental Charges and Qualifying Spend. Qualifying spending in local currencies will be converted into U.S. Dollars for the purpose of point calculation. A pre-determined conversion rate will be used and can be updated at any time at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.
  4. Points will not be awarded for Government and local taxes, service charges, tips, in-room movies, telephone charges, business centre charges, transportation, third party services contracted out by hotels, retail outlets, merchandises, gift certificates or vouchers, health club, function room charges, banqueting, catering and events spend (except pursuant to Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards), late charges, no-show charges and cancellation penalties.
  5. The bill for Qualifying Room Rate, Qualifying Incidental Charges and Qualifying Spend must be made in the Member’s name and that Member must personally pay for all charges in order to earn Points (except pursuant to Event Rewards). A member can only earn Points at one hotel at the same time, it applies but not limited to multiple stays at different properties during the same period and multiple restaurants & bars/spa outlets visits at the same time. A Member’s Membership number cannot be used by anyone else to earn Points, benefits, promotion bonus points or upgraded Membership status. If a Member breaches this clause, the relevant Points, benefits, promotion bonus points or upgraded Membership status will be forfeited and the Members involved will have their Membership terminated. All of their benefits and privileges shall cease forthwith and their Points will be forfeited immediately.
  6. Members may not earn Points on spends made by Nominees in their Family Membership, even if the Member pays for any of the spends incurred by the Nominee.
  7. Members must quote their Membership numbers at the time of reservations and present their Membership cards (digital or physical) and proof of photo identity documents at time of check-in, when paying the bill at Participating Hotel restaurants , Spa outlets or making a purchase at Shangri-La Boutique as a non-staying guest in order to earn Points.
  8. The maximum validity period for Points is 36 months if the Points are earned in January of an Accrual Year and 25 months if the Points are earned in December of an Accrual Year.

  9. Accrual Year begins on 1 January and ends on 31 December.

    Points earned in any calendar year (i.e., between 1 January to 31 December) (“Accrual Year”) will expire on the second anniversary of the end of the Accrual Year.

    Example A: Points earned on 2 April 2021 (i.e., end of the Accrual Year being 31 December 2021) will expire on 31 December 2023 (i.e., 2nd anniversary of the end of the Accrual Year).

    Example B: Points earned on 30 Dec 2021 (i.e., end of the Accrual Year being 31 December 2021)) will expire on 31 December 2023 (i.e., 2nd anniversary of the end of the Accrual Year).
  10. Only certain transactions with Partners are eligible to earn Points. These will appear on the Shangri-La Circle website and may be published by the Company from time to time.
  11. For promotions restricted to a particular market, residency is determined by the Member’s preferred mailing address as registered with Shangri-La Circle.
  12. Points will be credited to the Member’s account two weeks after a stay at Qualifying Room Rate or payment in full of Qualifying Incidental Charges or Qualifying Spend as the case may be.
  13. Points are valid for Redemption Awards as soon as they are credited to the Member’s account.
  14. If the Company incorrectly denies Points to a Member, the Company’s only liability will be to provide the Member with the number of Points originally denied.
  15. If the Company incorrectly credited Points to a Member’s account, the Company reserves the right at any time to cancel or invalidate the Points recorded incorrectly in the Member’s account.
  16. Points accrual is subject to the Terms and Conditions of Shangri-La Circle.

ii. Earning Points for Hotel Stays

  1. Points may be earned for stays at Participating Hotels at Qualifying Room Rates booked through Qualifying Room Reservation Channels and for Qualifying Incidental Charges at all Participating Hotels. If in doubt, Members should contact Shangri-La Circle Member Services for further clarification on exclusions and/or limitations before making reservations.
  2. Members may earn Points on Qualifying Incidental Charges even when paying Non-Qualifying Room Rates except for airline and/or travel industry discounts and serviced apartments.
  3. Members are required to provide their Membership numbers at the time of reservations and present their Membership cards (digital or physical) and proof of photo identity documents upon check-in at the hotels, when dining at Participating Hotel restaurants or using the services at Spa outlets.
  4. Points will be credited to the Member’s account for the stay at Qualifying Room Rate when the preference to earn Points is selected prior to check-out. Once the final selection is made, it cannot be amended.
  5. Members must be a resident in the Participating Hotel to earn Points on Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges. If a Member is sharing a room with other Members, only one of the Members will be eligible to earn Points on Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges.
  6. If a Member settles the account for multiple rooms, the Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges for up to three rooms will be eligible to earn Points provided that the Member has physically occupied one of the three rooms. The other rooms may be occupied by Members or non-Members. However, only the Member settling the Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges will be entitled to earn the Points.
  7. Points on multiple rooms will be earned on the same terms as the Points earned on the room physically occupied by the relevant Member. If the Member occupies a room booked on a Non-Qualifying Room Rate, Points cannot be earned by that Member on any other rooms even if they have been booked at a Qualifying Room Rate.
  8. A Member can only earn Points for multiple rooms for the duration of his stay at the Participating Hotel. If a Member books multiple rooms which are occupied by other persons for a period exceeding his own stay in the Participating Hotel, that Member cannot earn points for those additional nights or spend.
  9. Jade and Diamond Members will receive 25% and 50% bonus points respectively on Points earned for multiple rooms. The bonus points will be earned based on the Member’s own membership tier irrespective of the membership tier of the actual occupant of the other rooms.
  10. A Member may earn promotional bonuses based on the total spend for Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges for those rooms on which he earned Points.
  11. Points are credited to a Member’s account upon payment of charges in full by the Member for Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges at check-out. Charges paid by an organisation, convention, association or group do not qualify for Points except pursuant to Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards.
  12. Promotions for the offer of bonus Points may be offered at certain times. Details of these offers and the applicable terms, conditions and restrictions will be available on the Shangri-La Circle website. Promotion registration may be required and failure to register will result in the applicable benefits of the offer not being extended, even though the Member may have fulfilled all other qualifying requirements.
  13. Bonus Points earned from promotions will be credited to a Member’s account two to three weeks after the end of the promotion period.
  14. It is the responsibility of Members to provide a correct/updated email, mobile number and mailing address and to check the Shangri-La Circle website or relevant information channels for any promotion offers. The Company will not be liable for any loss of benefits and services due to non-receipt of promotional communications.

iii. Earning Points for Non-Hotel Stays

  1. Members may earn Points on Qualifying Spend.
  2. Members are required to provide their Membership numbers at the time of reservations and present their Membership cards (digital or physical card) and proof of photo identity documents for verification upon using hotel products or services.
  3. Payment for the Qualifying Spend must be made by the Member in order to earn Points.
  4. Points will be credited to a Member’s account two weeks after payment of charges in full for the Qualifying Spend.

iv. Earning Points on Shangri-La Boutique

  1. Members may earn Points on Shangri-La Boutique, if they have made payment for an order on Shangri-La Boutique, and are signed in as a Shangri-La Circle Member.
  2. Points will only be earned on Qualifying Spend on purchases made on Shangri-La Boutique. Points are earned at the rate of one (1) Point per one (1) U.S. dollar of Qualifying Spend. Qualifying Spend in local currencies will be converted into US dollars for the purpose of point calculation.
  3. Promotions that offer bonus Points may be offered at certain times. As a Jade or Diamond member, you will also earn 25% and 50% bonus Points respectively on all Qualifying Spend at Shangri-La Boutique.
  4. Points and Bonus Points will be credited to the Member’s account three weeks after completion of order (i.e., a successful delivery to customer’s desired destination or pick-up from any Shangri-La Hotel).

v. Purchasing Points

  1. To facilitate the redemption of Redemption Awards by Members, the Company may from time to time make available Points for purchase by Members.
  2. Purchased Points may only be used for redeeming Redemption Awards provided by the Company. Specifically, purchased Points may not be used (a) for redemption of products or services or for conversion into points or awards provided by third parties (including Partners and Airline Partners) or (b) for conversion into any payments or donations to third parties.
  3. Purchased Points are not refundable and do not carry any cash value.
  4. Purchased Points do not count towards tier status upgrades.
  5. Purchased Points expire in accordance with sub-section D(i) unless the terms and conditions of the purchased Points provide otherwise.
  6. Use of purchased Points is subject to these Terms and Conditions and any other terms and conditions specified to be applicable to the purchased Points.

E. EARNING & CONVERTING AIRLINE MILES

i. Earning Airline Miles

  1. Airline Miles can be earned on a participating Airline Partner Programme for each hotel stay at a Participating Hotel when paying the non-discounted rate or corporate rate for hotel stay reservations made through Qualifying Room Reservation Channels. Members who make hotel stay reservations at Participating Hotels through other channels will not earn any Airline Miles for such stays. If in doubt, Members should contact Shangri-La Circle Member Services for further clarification on exclusions and/or limitations before making reservations.
  2. Eligible stay requirements for earning Airline Miles do not include back-to-back stays even if a Member is paying a non-discounted or corporate rate. A stay is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at one hotel or resort, whether or not a Member checks out and checks back in again.
  3. Members must present their valid Airline Partner Programme membership cards for verification upon check-in at the hotel to receive Airline Miles when paying the non-discounted or corporate rates. The Member must ensure that the name on the reservation matches the name on the Airline Partner Programme membership card in order for Airline Miles to be credited to the Member’s Airline Partner Programme membership account. Processing may take between four and six weeks.
  4. If a Member is sharing a room with other Members, only one of the Members will be eligible to earn Airline Miles. If a Member reserves multiple rooms, only the non-discounted or corporate rate on the room that the Member has physically occupied will be eligible to earn Airline Miles. Airline Miles will be credited to the Member’s Airline Partner Programme membership account when the preference to earn Airline Miles is selected prior to check-out, and once made, the final selection cannot be amended.
  5. Promotions and bonus offers to earn Airline Miles may be offered at certain times. Details of these offers and the applicable terms, conditions and restrictions will be available on the Shangri-La Circle website. Registration in advance for certain promotions or bonus offers may be required and failure to register will result in the applicable benefits of the offer not being extended even though the Member may have fulfilled all the other eligible requirements.

ii. Converting Shangri-La Circle Points to Airline Miles

  1. Points may be converted to Airline Miles with Airline Partners. A minimum of 1,000 Points is required for each conversion request with additional point conversions made in increments of 500 Points. Processing may take between four and six weeks. Please refer to the Shangri-La Circle website for details of Points conversion.
  2. The conversion rate is 1 (one) Point to 1 (one) Airline Mile, but there may be different conversion rates for specific Airline Partners and this is subject to change without notice at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.
  3. Points can only be converted for the benefit of valid Airline Partners Programme membership accounts registered in the Member's name at the time of conversion and may not be converted for the benefit of or given to any other person's account.
  4. All Points converted to Airline Miles will no longer be available for Redemption Awards.
  5. Redemption or usage of converted Airline Miles is subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant Airline Partner Programme.
  6. Points may be converted through the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Circle Mobile App or through the Shangri-La Circle Member Services. Once the conversion is made, no cancellation or amendment is allowed.

F. ACCOUNT STATEMENT

  1. Members will receive a monthly e-Statement showing the balance of their Points with a summary of activities they have earned or redeemed Points in that statement period, or any Points adjustments made from the previous statement period.
  2. Members without a valid email address will not receive any statement. The Points balance can be checked online by logging in to the Shangri-La Circle website.

G. REQUESTS FOR MISSING SHANGRI-LA CIRCLE POINTS & AIRLINE MILES

i. Missing Shangri-La Circle Points Requests

  1. Requests for missing Points can only be accepted if the Member’s Membership number was properly quoted at the time of reservation and the Membership card (digital or physical cards) was presented at check-in.
  2. Claims for missing Points on Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges are only accepted when the Member’s preference of Points is selected prior to check-out at the hotel.
  3. Claims for missing Points for Qualifying Spend are not allowed.
  4. Members can claim missing Points for qualifying hotel stay transactions on Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges on the Shangri-La Circle website by completing the “Claim Missing Points/Miles request form” or through the Shangri-La Circle Member Services.
  5. Qualifying missing Points requests will only be accepted for processing if made within six months of the transaction date.
  6. Members should allow two to four weeks for Points earned on qualifying hotel stay transactions on Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges to appear in their account before raising a claim for missing Points.
  7. Claims for missing Points that are made prior to enrolment in Shangri-La Circle are not allowed. Members can only earn Points on Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges for hotel stays and Qualifying Spend for non-hotel stays that have taken place after the Member has enrolled into Shangri-La Circle.
  8. A copy of the hotel bill showing details of the stay may be required to process claims for missing Points. This information will include the hotel name, arrival and departure dates of hotel stay, room number and/or reservation number.
  9. Claims for missing Points are not accepted if a Member has not registered for any promotions prior to using the products and services where registration is required for the applicable benefits to be extended.
  10. Requests for missing Points for Non-Hotel Stays Points earning can only be accepted if the Member can present their digital payment voucher and transaction folio.
  11. Members should allow four to six weeks for Points from successful claims to be credited into their accounts.

ii. Missing Airline Miles Requests

  1. Requests for missing Airline Miles can only be accepted if the Member’s Airline Partner Programme membership number was properly quoted at the time of reservation and the membership card was presented at check-in.
  2. Claims for missing Airline Miles from eligible stays on non-discounted or corporate rates are only accepted when the preference of Airline Miles is selected prior to check-out at the hotel.
  3. Missing Airline Miles for eligible stays on non-discounted or corporate rates can be claimed at the Shangri-La Circle website by completing the “Claim Missing Points/Miles request form” or through the Shangri-La Circle Member Services.
  4. Members should allow four to six weeks for Airline Miles earned on eligible stays to appear in their Airline Partner Programme membership accounts before raising a claim for missing Airline Miles.
  5. Members should allow four to six weeks for Airline Miles from successful claims to be credited into their Airline Partner Programme membership accounts.

H. MEMBERSHIP TIERS

i. Membership Tiers – General Conditions

  1. Shangri-La Circle offers three Membership tiers – Gold, Jade and Diamond. Gold is the entry tier for the programme.

  4. Save as provided below, the number of Qualifying Nights and Tier Points in any Membership Year are not cumulative and cannot be counted for as Qualifying Nights or Tier Points for any subsequent year.
  5. For Members, Tier Points are earned at the rate of 1 (one) Point per 1 (one) U.S. dollar of spend at Qualifying Room Rates booked through Qualifying Room Reservation Channels, Qualifying Incidental Charges and Qualifying Spend at Participating Hotels. For Event Planners, Tier Points are earned at the rate of 1 (one) Point per 5 (five) U.S. dollar of Qualifying Event Spend.
  6. Jade and Diamond Members may accumulate surplus Qualifying Nights (but not Tier Points) in any Membership Year. These are referred to as Rollover Nights.
  7. Surplus Qualifying Nights means the number of Qualifying Nights stayed in any Membership Year minus the number of Qualifying Nights required to upgrade or renew the Member’s current tier status.
  8. Surplus Qualifying Nights may be carried forward and are valid for the following Membership Year only and will be counted towards the total number of Qualifying Nights stayed for the purposes of upgrade or renewal of tier status.
  9. If a Member accumulates sufficient Qualifying Nights in any Membership Year to upgrade or renew the tier status, all surplus Qualifying Nights carried over from the previous year will be automatically cancelled and set back to zero. (However, any surplus Qualifying Nights from the current Membership Year may be carried forward in accordance with the above terms.)
  10. In upgrading or renewing tier status, all Qualifying Nights accumulated in the current Membership Year will be taken into account before counting any surplus Qualifying Nights carried over from the previous year (irrespective of when an upgrade occurred during the Membership Year). If a Member uses surplus Qualifying Nights carried over from the previous year to renew tier status in any current Membership Year, any remaining surplus Qualifying Nights carried over from the previous year will be automatically cancelled and set back to zero.
  11. Save as provided in this section, upon Membership upgrade, renewal or downgrade, the earned Qualifying Nights or Tier Points will automatically be reset to zero on 1 January of the following year, upon which a new Membership Year begins.
  12. If a Member settles the account for multiple rooms for his or her hotel stay, only the Qualifying Nights of the room which the Member has physically occupied will be counted for Membership tier upgrade or renewal, regardless of the number of rooms reserved under the Member’s name; Tier Points for up to three rooms will be counted for Membership tier upgrade or renewal provided that the Member has physically occupied one of the three rooms. The other rooms may be occupied by Members or non-Members. However, only the Member settling the Qualifying Room Rate and Qualifying Incidental Charges will be entitled to earn the Tier Points.
  13. For multiple stays in different Participating Hotels on the same period or overlapping period , only the Qualifying Nights or Tier Points from one of the stays in one Participating Hotel for that period/day would be counted towards Membership tier upgrade or renewal.
  14. No-show and cancelled room nights are not eligible to earn Qualifying Nights or Tier Points.
  15. Membership Tier upgrades occur when a Member has earned either enough Qualifying Nights or Tier Points to enter the next tier, within a Calendar Year, but not a combination of the two qualifying criteria. Multiple tier upgrades are not allowed. Members can only progress one tier at a time.
  16. The upgraded tier Membership is valid until the end of the next calendar year (31 December of the next year).
  17. The number of Qualifying Nights or Tier Points required to upgrade or renew tiers are tracked and listed separately in the Member’s account and on their account statement.
  18. Qualifying Nights or Tier Points are for the sole purpose of determining tier status and such criteria may be changed from time to time at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.
  19. The Company reserves the right to change qualifying criteria for Membership upgrades and renewal at any time without prior notice.

I. MEMBER BENEFITS (GENERAL)

i. General Conditions

  1. Members who make hotel stay reservations at a Participating Hotels at Qualifying Rooms Rates through Qualifying Room Reservation Channels will receive the programme privileges for and benefits of Shangri-La Circle during their stay at the Participating Hotel.
  2. Jade and Diamond Members will receive 25% and 50% bonus points respectively on Points earned on Qualifying Room Rates and Qualifying Incidental Charges during each hotel stay and Qualifying Spend during a non-hotel stay.
  3. Member exclusive discounts offered by any food and beverage outlet or Spa outlets must be requested in the relevant food and beverage, and Spa outlets at the time of settling the bill and may not be charged to a guest's room. No such discounts can be applied at the hotel front-desk upon checking out.
  4. Member benefits may be subject to availability, black-out dates and local regulations. Please check with the respective hotel, food and beverage outlet, Spa outlets and facility for the most up-to-date information.
  5. The Company reserves the right to amend or withdraw any benefits and services at any time without prior notice.
  6. The Company reserves the right to change qualifying criteria for Membership upgrades and renewal at any time without prior notice.
  7. Members’ profiles will be updated, and new Membership cards will be issued in four to six weeks after Members are qualified for Diamond Membership.

ii. Children’s Meal Plan

  1. The following children’s meal plan is applicable for all Shangri-La Circle members.
    1. At both city and resort hotels, when accompanied by a dine-in adult, up to 2 children of registered in-house hotel guests at the age of 6 and below can enjoy buffet meals at the all-day dining venues at no additional charge. Additional children at the age of 6 and below and all children who are above 6 years of age but under 12 years of age will receive a 50% discount on the adult buffet price. Children of registered walk-in guests under the age of 12 will receive a 50% discount on buffet meals at the all-day dining outlets.

iii. Member Rate

  1. Shangri-La Circle Members will receive a preferred rate (“Member Rate”) when booking via any Shangri-La e-direct channel which include Shangri-La website, Shangri-La Circle Mobile App and the Shangri-La WeChat Mini Programme. Member Rate are Qualifying Room Rate and eligible to earn Points.
  2. Member Rate is available at participating Shangri-La Group hotels, including Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Kerry Hotels, JEN Hotels and Traders Hotels.
  3. Member Rate does not apply to all rates. Member Rate is applicable when booking Flexible Rates and Flexible Rates including breakfast only and is not applicable to any redemption bookings.
  4. Members can book a maximum of 3 (three) rooms for each reservation at any of the participating hotels using Members Online Exclusive Rate. Each room must be occupied by at least one Shangri-La Circle member.
  5. Member Rate may not be combined with any promotions, discounts or special offers and is not valid for existing reservations.

iv. Milestone Rewards

  1. Shangri-La Circle Member will receive Milestone Rewards based on their annual qualifying activity. Qualification for the rewards described in this section is based on the Member’s activity over a calendar year, from January 1 through December 31 (both dates inclusive) as measured through either one of the following criteria:
    • a. Qualifying Nights: The Members may receive rewards based on the number of room nights at a Participating Hotel paid at Qualifying Room Rates.
      b. Tier Points: The Members may receive rewards based on the number of Tier Points accumulated.
    • There will be no extension of the qualification period, or waiver of the minimum number of Qualifying Nights or Tier Points required to receive the Milestone Rewards.
    • The Member satisfying more than one of the qualifying requirements for a particular Milestone Reward in a calendar year will not result in additional rewards.
    • The Member must have a valid email address or valid mobile phone number in his/her Membership profile and be subscribed to receive exclusive offers from Shangri-La Circle in order to receive the Milestone Rewards and relevant e-communications. It is the responsibility of Members to provide a correct/updated email address and mobile number. The Company will not be liable for any loss of benefits and services due to non-receipt of promotional e-communications.
    • Details of the selected Milestone Rewards are in digital format which the Members may find in their membership account in the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Circle Mobile App or Shangri-La WeChat Mini Programme.
    • The Member must present the QR code on the digital voucher at the Participating Hotel to redeem the reward.
    • The list of available Milestone Rewards and the terms and conditions thereof are subject to change at any time without prior notice at the Company’s sole and absolute discretion. 
    • Eligible Member is required to select the reward within 30 days from the date on which the e-communication was sent from Shangri-la Circle and to redeem the reward within the relevant validity period set out in the digital voucher.
    • Each type of Milestone Reward can only be redeemed once in each calendar year, unless otherwise stated at the time of offer.
    • The Milestone Rewards are non-refundable, non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and will be deemed void if a person other than the Member attempts to use the Milestone Rewards.
    • The Milestone Rewards cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts or promotional offers.
    • No amendment or cancellation is allowed once the Milestone Reward has been selected or redeemed. If a Member fails to select or redeem the reward for the Milestone Rewards for any reason within the reward selection period or voucher redemption validity period respectively, the Member would be deemed to have forfeited the Milestone Rewards.
    • The use of Milestone Rewards is subject to availability and may not be redeemed during system downtime or maintenance at any Participating Hotel.
    • Shangri-La Circle reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to add, modify, suspend, cancel, or remove any portion of the terms of the Milestone Rewards programme, including the rewards and qualifying criteria at any time without prior notice to the Members.
    • The Company is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged Milestone Rewards. The Company reserves the right to reject any Milestone Rewards that has been tampered with, or found unacceptable, or not used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or other terms and conditions that accompany the Milestone Rewards.
    • Other terms and conditions governing the use of specific Milestone Rewards apply.

    J. MEMBER BENEFITS

    i. Gold Member

    1. Mobile Check-in and Check-out
      1. Subject to availability and Shangri-La Circle’s terms and condition, Gold Member may use the ‘Mobile-check-in’, ‘Mobile-check-out’ function of the Shangri-La Circle Mobile App as well as settlement of payment using the App during their Qualifying Stay at the Participating Hotels.
    2. Priority waitlist for room reservations
      1. In situation where the desired room(s) chosen by the Gold Member is/ are/ become(s) unavailable, the Gold Member would be placed in a priority waitlist for room allocation.

    ii. Jade Member

    1. Enjoy all Gold member benefits
      1. Jade Member is entitled to all of the benefits specified at Section J(i) and additional benefits as stated in Section J(ii)(2-9).
    2. Early Check-in & Late Check-out
      1. Jade Member, upon individual request, may enjoy an ‘Early Check-in’ & ‘Late Check-out’ benefit, namely to check-in at 11am (local time of the Participating Hotel) on the day of arrival at the Participating Hotels and check-out at 4pm the latest (local time of the Participating Hotel) from the Participating Hotels.
      2. The ‘Early Check-in’ & ‘Late Check-out’ benefit is provided to all Jade Member only per Jade Member’s individual request and is subject to availability.
      3. Subject to availability, the ‘Early Check-in’ & ‘Late Check-out’ benefit is available at all Participating Hotels, except China World Summit Wing; Beijing; Shangri-La Paris; Shangri-La Tokyo; Shangri-La Toronto; Shangri-La Vancouver; and Shangri-La The Shard, London.
      4. In case of any disputes, Shangri-La Circle reserves the right of final decision.
    3. Priority check-in & check-out at an exclusively designated area
      1. Subject to availability, Jade Member is entitled to an expedited check-in and check-out services provided at the designated Shangri-La Circle Counter at the Participating Hotels.
      2. Expedited check-in and check-out benefit is available at all Participating Hotels and selected JEN Hotels where applicable.
    4. Guaranteed room availability for reservations made prior to arrival
      1. Guaranteed room availability for reservations made at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to arrival and, this benefit applied to all Participating Hotels except Participating Hotels with villas only.
      2. Jade Member is only entitled to benefit stated in Section ii(4) whilst paying prevailing public rate and guaranteed by credit card at the time of booking any room(s) at the Participating Hotels.
      3. In any case of any disputes, Shangri-La Circle reserves the right of final decision.
    5. Upgrade to next room type within the same category
      1. Jade Member may enjoy an upgrade to their occupied room to the next room type, within the same room category up to (and including) Club room types only (Suite rooms and above are excluded), with enhanced views, and/or rooms located on higher floors, and/or corner rooms.
      2. Regardless of the number of rooms reserved by the Jade Member at/ after the time of booking, benefits stated in ii(5) is subject to availability on the day of arrival and applied exclusively to the Jade Member’s occupied room.
      3. Benefit stated in ii(5) is only available for reservation made by Jade Member at least 72 hours (including 72 hours) prior to the member’s arrival at the Participating Hotels for a duration of stay not exceeding seven (7) nights per stay.
    6. Welcome Amenities
      1. Jade Member is entitled to choose one out of three amenities as a welcome amenity during their stay made at any participating Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Kerry Hotels and Traders Hotels at Qualifying Room Rate booked through a Qualifying Room Reservation Channel.
      2. Choice of amenities: USD10 Dining Credits, or USD10 Laundry Credits, or 100 Shangri-La Circle Points.
      3. Members must be a resident in the Participating Hotel to be eligible to select and use the welcome amenity. If a Member is sharing a room with other Members, only the Member who reserved the room under his/her name will be eligible to select and use the welcome amenity. If a Member has reserved multiple rooms, the selected amenity will only be applicable for the room physically occupied by the relevant Member. If a Member has reserved for back-to-back stays, the selected amenity will only be applicable during his/her 1st stay, whether or not the Member checks out and immediately checks back in again.
      4. Selected credits are only applicable during the relevant stay and must be consumed before check-out. Any unused credits prior to check-out will be deemed to be forfeited.
      5. Dining credits and laundry credits can be used to settle full or partial payment of the bill, including taxes and service charges but not gratuities. All gratuities must be settled by cash, credit card or other payment method. If partial payment is settled by dining or laundry credits, the remaining balance must be settled by cash, credit card or other payment method upon check-out and the settlement of such remaining balance will be eligible to earn Points.
      6. Dining credits can be used to settle dine-in bills for Participating Hotel restaurants during stay, but cannot be used during special events or in conjunction with discounted promotions and cannot be used for mini bar or in-room pantry consumption.
      7. Laundry credits can only be used at staying property during stay, and cannot be used for pressing, dry cleaning and laundromat.
      8. If Members wish to use credits to settle full or partial payment of the bill, the bill must be posted to his/her room account and any outstanding charges will be reflected on the guest folio and must be settled upon check-out.
      9. Payment settled by the selected credits are not eligible to earn Points.
      10. Selected credits are not transferable, not redeemable for cash, and will become void after check-out from the relevant stay.
      11. Selected credits cannot be used to settle payment for gift vouchers, merchandise, product, or services contracted out by the Company to a third party.
      12. If Shangri-La Circle Points are selected, the Points will be credited to a Member’s account within five calendar days after check-out.
      13. Members may select their choice of the welcome amenity prior to arrival and the choice of welcome amenity cannot be changed after check-in. Any welcome amenity that has not been selected according to this section will be forfeited.
      14. The selection of welcome amenities available may be changed from time to time at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.
      15. Jade Member (and a stay partner) is entitled to a welcome drink during their stay made at JEN Hotels at Qualifying Room Rate booked through a Qualifying Room Reservation Channel (subject also to paragraph 3 above).
    7. Daily Breakfast
      1. Jade Member may enjoy a complimentary breakfast once per day, served at a Café Restaurant or a designated restaurant by the Participating Hotels upon making reservation at a qualified room rate or Room Award Redemption.
      2. Benefit stated in ii(7) is not available for in-room dining.
    8. Partner stays in same room and enjoys applicable breakfast benefit
      1. Jade Member may bring a maximum of one staying partner with him/her, the accompanying partner may stay in the same room reserved and occupied by the Jade Member free of charge at the Participating Hotels. No additional charge(s) for double occupancy would be made to the Jade Member or the accompanying partner.
      2. The accompanying partner brought by the Jade Member is entitled to the benefit stated in ii(7).
    9. Status match with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

      1. Diamond Member is entitled to all of the benefits specified at Section J(i) and J(ii) and additional benefits as stated in Section J(iii)(2-9).

Diamond Member, upon individual request, may enjoy an ‘Early Check-in’ & ‘Late Check-out’ benefit, namely to check-in at 8am the earliest (local time of the Participating Hotel) on the day of arrival at the Participating Hotels and check-out at 6pm the latest (local time of the Participating Hotel) from the Participating Hotel.
      2. The ‘Early Check-in’ & ‘Late Check-out’ benefit is provided to all Diamond Member only per Diamond Member’s individual request and is subject to availability.
      3. Subject to availability, the ‘Early Check-in’ & ‘Late Check-out’ benefit is available at all Participating Hotels, except: China World Summit Wing; Beijing; Shangri-La Paris; Shangri-La Tokyo; Shangri-La Toronto; Shangri-La Vancouver; and Shangri-La The Shard, London.
      4. In any case of any disputes, Shangri-La Circle reserves the right of final decision.
    3. Priority check-in and check-out at Club Lounge or in-room check-in
      1. Subject to availability, Diamond Member is entitled to an expedited check-in and check-out services provided at: a) The designated Shangri-La Circle Counter, b) Club Lounge at the Participating Hotels; or c) In-room check-in, where available.
      2. Expedited check-in and check-out benefit is available at all Participating Hotels and JEN Hotels where applicable.
    4. Guaranteed room availability for reservations made prior to arrival
      1. Guaranteed room availability for reservations made at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to arrival and, this benefit applied to all Participating Hotels except Participating Hotels with villas only.
      2. Diamond Member is only entitled to benefit stated in Section iii(4) whilst paying prevailing public rate and guaranteed by credit card at the time of booking any room(s) at the Participating Hotels.
      3. In any case of any disputes, Shangri-La Circle reserves the right of final decision.
    5. Guaranteed bed type at time of reservation
      1. Diamond Members are guaranteed with the bed-type of their request at the Participating Hotels for the room reserved and to be occupied by the Diamond Member concerned. However, such benefit is unavailable for rooms reserved on the same day of the arrival as the reserving member at the Participating Hotels.
    6. Welcome Amenities
      1. Diamond Member is entitled to Participating Hotel’s Local Amenity “Special Delight” and to choose one out of three amenities as a welcome amenity during their stay made at any participating Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Kerry Hotels and Traders Hotels at Qualifying Room Rate booked through a Qualifying Room Reservation Channel.
      2. Choice of amenities: USD12 Dining Credits, or USD12 Laundry Credits, or 150 Shangri-La Circle Points.
      3. Members must be a resident in the Participating Hotel to be eligible to select and use the welcome amenity. If a Member is sharing a room with other Members, only the Member who reserved the room under his/her name will be eligible to select and use the welcome amenity. If a Member has reserved multiple rooms, the selected amenity will only be applicable for the room physically occupied by the relevant Member. If a Member has reserved for back-to-back stays, the selected amenity will only be applicable during his/her 1st stay, whether or not the Member checks out and immediately checks back in again.
      4. Selected credits are only applicable during the relevant stay and must be consumed before check-out. Any unused credits prior to check-out will be deemed to be forfeited.
      5. Dining credits and laundry credits can be used to settle full or partial payment of the bill, including taxes and service charges but not gratuities. All gratuities must be settled by cash, credit card or other payment method. If partial payment is settled by dining or laundry credits, the remaining balance must be settled by cash, credit card or other payment method upon check-out and the settlement of such remaining balance will be eligible to earn Points.
      6. Dining credits can be used to settle dine-in bills for Participating Hotel restaurants during stay, but cannot be used during special events or in conjunction with discounted promotions and cannot be used for mini bar or in-room pantry consumption.
      7. Laundry credits can only be used at staying property during stay, and cannot be used for pressing, dry cleaning and laundromat.
      8. If Members wish to use credits to settle full or partial payment of the bill, the bill must be posted to his/her room account and any outstanding charges will be reflected on the guest folio and must be settled upon check-out.
      9. Payment settled by the selected credits are not eligible to earn Points.
      10. Selected credits are not transferable, not redeemable for cash, and will become void after check-out from the relevant stay.
      11. Selected credits cannot be used to settle payment for gift vouchers, merchandise, product, or services contracted out by the Company to a third party.
      12. If Shangri-La Circle Points are selected, the Points will be credited to a Member’s account within five calendar days after check-out.
      13. Members may select their choice of the welcome amenity prior to arrival and the choice of welcome amenity cannot be changed after check-in. Any welcome amenity that has not been selected according to this section will be forfeited.
      14. The selection of welcome amenities available may be changed from time to time at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.
      15. Diamond Member (and a stay partner) is entitled to a welcome drink per night during their stay made at JEN Hotels at Qualifying Room Rate booked through a Qualifying Room Reservation Channel (subject also to paragraph 3 above).
    7. Daily Breakfast
      1. Diamond Member is entitled to a complimentary breakfast once per day, served at a Café Restaurant or Club Lounge at the Participating Hotels upon making reservation at a qualitied room rate or Room Award Redemption.
      2. Benefit stated in iii(7) is not available for in-room dining.
    8. Access to Club Lounge with 1 guest
      1. Diamond Member may bring one (1) staying partner who occupies the same room with the Diamond Member and one additional guest (staying / non-staying) together with him/her to accessing the Club Lounge during normal operation hour at the Participating Hotels.
      2. In circumstances where the guest count is greater than the entitled guest count by a Diamond Member as stated in iii(8), additional charge(s) may apply for Club Lounge access.
    9. Pressing for one suit upon arrival
      1. Diamond Member is entitled to one complimentary pressing service for one suit per stay.
      2. Benefit stated in iii(9) is not available at JEN Hotels.

    iv. Polaris Member

    1. The Polaris tier is the highest level of membership of Shangri-La Circle and is by-invitation only. Qualification for and renewal of Polaris membership is at the Company’s discretion. The membership period for Polaris is one calendar year.
    2. Upon acceptance of our Polaris invitation, Members’ Polaris status will be updated in their Shangri-La Circle membership account and a Polaris Membership welcome pack and a new Membership card will be issued.
    3. Subject to the requirements of applicable laws, the use of the Polaris membership and associated benefits constitute the Polaris Member’s acceptance of these terms and conditions and any other Polaris membership terms and conditions that may be issued by the Company.
    4. All Polaris benefits are available to Polaris Members only. Polaris benefits cannot be transferred to another person and cannot be exchanged for cash.
    5. As Shangri-La Properties are subject to different local rules, regulations and operational constraints, Polaris Members must abide by specific local terms and conditions at each Shangri-La Property to enjoy the Polaris benefits. In case of doubt, Polaris Member should approach Polaris Concierge and/or the concierge at the relevant Shangri-La Property for assistance and clarification.
    6. Polaris Members may enjoy all the benefits of a Diamond Membership under Shangri-La Circle and the additional benefits, as updated from time to time by us at our discretion. This is published on the Polaris Membership Portal. The Company reserve the right to suspend these benefits from time to time. The suspension of benefits will be published on the Polaris Membership Portal.

    K. REDEEMING SHANGRI-LA CIRCLE REDEMPTION AWARDS

    i. General Conditions

    1. All Points required for Redemption Awards must be earned by the same Member under the same account except pursuant to Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards. Pooling of Points for different Members is not allowed.
    2. Points can be redeemed for Redemption Awards, which can be products or services provided by the Company, or by a designated third-party company, in accordance with the programme’s current redemption Terms and Conditions prevailing from time to time.
    3. The number of Points required for each Redemption Award will be subject to a fixed redemption rate of 15 (fifteen) Points to 1 (one) USD or local currency equivalent for Shangri-La products, services and experiences. Redemptions for Third-Party products are subject to different redemption rates. The Company reserves the right to amend these redemption rates at any time without prior notice and at the Company’s sole discretion.
    4. When a Member makes a Redemption Awards reservation, the corresponding number of Points will be automatically deducted from the Member’s account at the time when such reservation is confirmed.
    5. Redemption Awards must be made online at the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Mobile App or Shangri-La WeChat Mini Programme or through the Shangri-La Circle Member Services. If the Redemption is made through the Shangri-La Circle Member Services, registration information of the Members may be checked (including but not limited to ID document number, mobile phone number, birthday, etc. which were provided upon registration) to verify identity.
    6. Redemption Awards must be redeemed prior to the products or services being used. Members must provide their Membership numbers when making Redemption Awards reservations and present their Membership cards and proof of photo identity documents upon using the Redemption Awards. If the Redemption Awards are used by a Nominee, hotel reserves the right to request the Nominee to provide his/her proof of identity, confirmation of his/her family relationship to the Member who redeemed the Redemption Awards and any other evidence as the hotel may reasonably request, so that the hotel can verify the identity of the Nominee. Failure to provide relevant documents may result in the hotel’s refusal to permit the use of Redemption Awards. All forms of Redemption Awards can only be used by Nominee who has completed the Family Membership registration process and is also a Member of Shangri-La Circle. Child Nominee can enjoy benefits once he/she becomes a qualifying Nominee.
      *It is the responsibility of Members to ensure that any information provided to the Company is true, accurate, complete and up-to-date.  The Company will not be liable for any losses, damages, costs or expenses arising out of or in connection with such information not being true, accurate, complete or up-to-date.
    7. Redemption Awards cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other offers or promotions unless specifically permitted by the Terms and Conditions that accompany the Redemption Awards.
    8. Redemption Awards reservations are subject to the individual Participating Hotel’s reservation requirements and are subject to the cancellation policy of the hotel. Details of the cancellation penalties relating to Redemption Awards will be published and may be amended at any time by the Company.
    9. Redemption Awards are non-negotiable, commissionable or redeemable for cash and are void if sold for cash or other consideration.
    10. Redemption Awards may not be sold, bartered, transferred, exchanged for cash or otherwise by any means among the Members or between Member and non-Member. Any Redemption Awards which are sold, bartered, transferred or exchanged will be forfeited, and the Members involved will have their Membership terminated. All of their benefits and privileges shall cease forthwith and their Points will be forfeited immediately. Members found doing so will be liable for damages suffered or incurred by the Company.
    11. In the event that a hotel or resort ceases to be a Participating Hotel, from the date of such cessation, Points will not be earned for stays at such property, nor will Redemption Awards be available thereafter even if the reservation or redemption was made prior to such cessation.
    12. Shangri-La Circle Redemption Awards are subject to the Shangri-La Circle programme Terms and Conditions.

    ii. Redeeming Room Awards

    1. Room Awards must be booked at least one day in advance through the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Circle Mobile App, Shangri-La WeChat Mini Programme or the Shangri-La Circle Member Services. Members must provide their Membership numbers when making reservations for Room Awards and present their Membership cards and proof of photo identity documents upon check-in. Members can redeem Room Awards only for Nominee registered with the Shangri-La Circle Family Membership (see Section L. “Family Membership” for details), who is also a Member of Shangri-La Circle. If the Redemption Awards are used by a Nominee, hotel reserves the right to request the Nominee to provide his/her proof of identity, confirmation of his/her family relationship to the Member who redeemed the Redemption Awards and any other evidence as the hotel may reasonably request, so that the hotel can verify the identity of the Nominee. Failure to provide relevant documents may result in the hotel’s refusal to permit the use of Room Awards.
    2. Redemption requests from parties other than the Member, including Nominee, will not be processed.
    3. Room Awards can be combined with paid hotel room night stay in one reservation.
    4. Room Awards are not transferable, and the room must be occupied by the Member or the designated Nominee.
    5. Once a Room Award reservation has been confirmed, any changes (including hotel, room type, date of check-in, length of stay or guest name) will require the reservation to be cancelled and re-booked, subject to room availability, cancellation rules, policies and penalties that are prevailing from time to time.
    6. In the event of a no-show for Room Award redemption, such Room Award redemption will be deemed fully used and all Points that have been deducted for the Room Award will not be refunded.
    7. Members acknowledge that the Company reserves the right to limit the number of rooms made available for Room Awards at its sole and absolute discretion.
    8. Members are responsible for reporting any suspected unauthorised award claims. The Company will decide, at its sole and absolute discretion, what action if any, will be taken. The Company may refuse to credit Points to compensate for any unauthorised redemption, regardless of whether the same has been reported by Members.
    9. Members are entitled to all Membership tier related benefits during Room Award stays.

    iii. Cash & Points (Room Awards)

    1. Members may redeem Room Awards at a participating hotel by using a combination of Cash & Points.
    2. Cash & Points are applicable on the “Flexible Rate” and “Flexible Rate with Breakfast” and for specific Room Types only. Prevailing government taxes and service charges apply to the stay and such taxes/charges may vary for each participating hotel based on applicable regulations. Any associated charges must be paid by the Member at check-out. The redemption rate for each Room Award is 15 (fifteen) Points to 1 (one) USD or local currency equivalent. A minimum of 500 Point is required before a Room Award can be redeemed with a combination of Cash & Points.
    3. Member can only redeem one room under his/her name at any point in time when a reservation made under Cash & Points.
    4. Cash & Points cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other offers or promotions unless specifically permitted by the Terms and Conditions that accompany Redemption Awards.
    5. Upon confirmation of a Cash & Points reservation, a Member will need to cancel and make a new reservation for any changes, including change of hotel, room type, date of check-in, length of stay or guest name. The new reservation is subject to prevailing Flexible Rate or Flexible Rate with Breakfast, room availability, cancellation rules, policies and penalties at the time of the new reservation.
    6. Cash & Points reservations are subject to reservation requirements and cancellation policies at the participating hotel.
    7. Points used in connection with the Cash & Points reservation will be used to settle any cancellation penalty in the first instance. Any cancellation penalty that cannot be settled with Points will be charged to the credit card provided. Any remaining Points after cancellation penalty is deducted will be credited back to the Member’s account and such Points will retain their original expiry date. Expired Points will not be extended when the cancellation penalty is being processed.
    8. Points will not be refunded for a no-show on the Cash & Points redemption and the remaining cash portion (if any) will be deducted from the credit card.
    9. Member will not be able to earn Points on Room Rate for Cash & Points redemption booking, whether such redemption booking is made using full Points or partial cash plus Points. Member may earn Points on their incidental spend.

    iv. Redeeming Non-Room Awards

    1. Members can redeem Non-Room Awards including Dining vouchers and Spa vouchers through the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Mobile App and the Shangri-La Circle Member Services.
    2. Members can redeem Non-Room Awards for Nominee registered with the Shangri-La Circle Family Membership (see Section L. “Family Membership” for details), who is also a Member of Shangri-La Circle.
    3. Members will receive a confirmation email with a redemption award reference number after the completion of the redemption. The QR code will be displayed in their membership account on the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Mobile App and Shangri-La WeChat Mini Programme. If the voucher is redeemed for a Nominee, only Nominee will receive the redemption award reference number via confirmation email. The QR code will be displayed in the Nominee’s membership account on the Shangri-La Circle website, Shangri-La Mobile App and WeChat Mini Programme.
    4. The QR code is unique to the Member or the designated Nominee.  It cannot be shared with, transferred to or used by others. The QR code can only be used once. Once consumed, the QR code will be invalid.
    5. Points will be deducted from the Member’s account at the time the redemption is made.
    6. A redemption voucher is valid for 180 days from the date of redemption. Once expired, the validity of the voucher cannot be extended.
    7. Redemption vouchers can only be used at participating food and beverage outlets and Spa outlets. Prior reservations must be made with the relevant food and beverage outlets and Spa outlets.
    8. A Member or Nominee (as the case may be) must validate the Non-Room Awards in person. A Member must present the Membership card and proof of photo identity document at the Participating Hotel prior to the service being used at the food and beverage outlets and Spa outlets. If the Non-Room Awards are used by a Nominee, he/she shall provide proof of identity and the confirmation of his/her family relationship to the Member who redeemed the Non-Room Awards, so that the hotel can verify the identity of the Nominee. Failure to provide relevant documents may result in the hotel’s refusal to permit the use of Non-Room Awards.
    9. The redemption vouchers QR code (digital) must be presented at the time of payment at the food and beverage outlets and Spa outlets.
    10. Redemption vouchers cannot be used to settle charges and expenses from food and beverage outlets and Spa outlets that are charged to a room account.
    11. Redemption vouchers can be used to settle full or partial payment of the bill, including taxes and service charges but not gratuities. All gratuities must be settled by cash, credit card or other valid payment method.
    12. The maximum value of redemption vouchers that can be used to settle payment for each food and beverage transaction is USD 5,000 or the local currency equivalent.
    13. The cash value of the redemption vouchers is stated on the respective vouchers. The redemption vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash. No change will be returned for spending that is below the amount stated on the voucher and the Member or Nominee (as the case may be) is required to pay for any spend exceeding the voucher amount.
    14. The applicable exchange rate is determined by the Company in its sole discretion and may be updated from time to time based on prevailing foreign currency exchange rates.
    15. Redemption vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts or promotional offers.
    16. The use of redemption vouchers is subject to availability and may not be redeemed during system downtime or maintenance at the relevant Participating Hotels or participating food and beverage outlets or Spa outlets.
    17. The Company is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged redemption vouchers. The Company reserves the right to reject any redemption voucher that has been tampered with, or found unacceptable, or not used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
    18. Redemption vouchers are not transferable, not refundable and will be deemed void if a person other than the Member or Nominee (as the case may be) attempts to use the vouchers.
    19. Redemption vouchers cannot be used to purchase merchandise or services which are contracted out by the Company to a third party.
    20. No amendment or cancellation is allowed for Non-Room Awards once it has been redeemed.
    21. All interpretations of this voucher shall be at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company. In case of any dispute over the interpretation of this voucher, the Company’s decision is final.
    22. The Company reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the offer on this voucher and these Terms and Conditions at any time.
    23. If the English version of these Terms and Conditions are available in other languages, the English version shall prevail if any discrepancy arises.
    24. This voucher and its usage are subject to Shangri-La Circle Terms and Conditions.

    v. Donating Points

    1. Members may donate Points to certain charities or CSR organizations designated by Shangri-La Circle from time to time; the minimum donation to each charity or CSR organization being 2,000 Points with further increments of 1,000 Points being allowed up to a maximum of 10,000 Points at any one time. Donation must be made in blocks of 1,000 Points.
    2. Donated Points shall be converted at a cash equivalent rate of USD 0.02 per Point. By way of example, conversion of:
      1. 2,000 Points shall be equal to a cash donation of USD 40;
      2. 3,000 Points shall be equal to a cash donation of USD 60; and
      3. 10,000 Points shall be equal to a cash donation of USD 200.
    3. The notional cash value attributed for the purposes of enabling a Member to convert Points into charitable donations has no bearing on the real value of the Points. The donations will be paid over to the charities or CSR organizations periodically depending on the agreed schedule between Shangri-La Circle and the relevant recipient. These donations are aggregated and not attributed to individual Members. The Company is not in a position to issue tax receipts to Members with respect to donated Points.
    4. The cash equivalent rate for each Point may be different from one charity or CSR organization to another and this is subject to change without notice at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.
    5. Members may donate Points by visiting Shangri-La Circle website or contacting the Shangri-La Circle Member Services. Points will be deducted from the Member’s account at the time the donation is made. The donation or contribution will be reflected in the Member's statement as a redemption activity on the date of donation by the Member.
    6. The total Points of a donation cannot exceed the total Points accrued and available in a Member's account at time of a donation request.
    7. Only Members can donate Points for charities or CSR organizations; this option is not available to Nominees.
    8. A Member may not donate Points to other individual Members. Any violation of this clause will be considered a breach of Clause C5.
    9. Points have no cash value and donation amounts are not tax-deductible.
    10. Shangri-La Circle will not levy any administration fees on the recipient charity or CSR organization in respect of donations made with Points.
    11. All donations will be considered final and non-reversible. No amendment or cancellation is allowed once the Points are deducted from a Member’s account.

    vi. Redeeming Instant Redemption Awards (including Restaurant and Bar outlets and Spa outlets)

    1. Members may redeem Instant Redemption Awards for selected items using Points if the bill is settled directly at Participating Hotels, participating food and beverage outlets, and Spa outlets. Items that are available for redemption may vary by Participating Hotel and outlet and may be updated from time to time. Redemption of Instant Redemption Awards may not be available for takeaway items at certain Participating Hotels or outlets. Members should contact the Participating Hotel, participating food and beverage outlets and Spa outlets for an up-to-date list of items available for redemption prior to making a redemption request.
    2. Instant Redemption Awards may only be redeemed for the Member’s personal use and the Member must be present upon settlement of the bill at the food and beverage outlet, or Spa outlet. Member may not redeem Instant Redemption Awards for Nominee’s use.
    3. To complete the redemption, members must verify their identity by signing in to their online account and presenting their digital Membership Card in dynamic QR code format on the online account for scanning by the hotel staff.  Failure to follow these steps may result in the hotel’s refusal to permit the use of Instant Redemption Awards. The Company’s decision on verification shall be final.
    4. Instant Redemption Awards may only be redeemed when sufficient valid Points posted to a Member’s account are available at the time when such request for redemption is made. Points will be deducted from the Member’s account at the time when the redemption is made.
    5. Instant Redemption Awards can be redeemed to settle full or partial payment of the bill, including taxes and service charges but not gratuities. All gratuities must be settled by cash, credit card or other payment method. If partial payment is made by redemption of Instant Redemption Awards, the remaining balance must be settled by cash, credit card or other valid payment method and will be eligible to earn Points. No Points will be earned on any amount of the bill settled by redemption of Instant Redemption Awards.
    6. Members are required to indicate on the bill, the number of Points that the Member wishes to use and sign the bill as confirmation of the redemption of Instant Redemption Awards.
    7. Once the bill is settled, the transaction cannot be voided, and the Points used will not be refunded.
    8. Instant Redemption Awards shall be redeemed at a cash equivalent rate 15 (fifteen) Points to 1 (one) USD or local currency equivalent.
    9. The maximum number of Points that can be used per transaction is 75,000 Points or its local currency cash equivalent for participating Restaurants and Bars outlets only.
    10. Points will be converted into local currency cash equivalent based on the monthly exchange rate defined by Shangri-La Circle.
    11. Instant Redemption Awards cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other offers or promotions.
    12. Instant Redemption Awards cannot be redeemed to settle payment for gift vouchers, merchandise or services contracted out by the Company to a third party.
    13. Instant Redemption Awards are subject to availability and may not be redeemed during system downtime or maintenance at the relevant Participating Hotels, participating food and beverage outlets and Spa outlets.
    14. The Company reserves the right to accept or reject redemption of Instant Redemption Awards at its sole and absolute discretion without prior notice.

    vii. Qualifying Events Redemption

    1. Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards may use Points for settling partial payment of the invoice for Qualifying Events. Redemption shall be at a cash equivalent rate of 15 (fifteen) Points to 1 (one) USD or local currency equivalent.
    2. Points equivalent to a maximum of 5% of the total Event Spend, may be redeemed subject to a maximum cap of 75,000 Points or its local currency cash equivalent. Points must be redeemed in multiples of 250 points. The redeemed Points can be used to partially settle the Event Spend including any tax and service charges but not gratuities. The remaining balance of Event Spend and all gratuities must be settled by cash, credit card or other payment method.
    3. Points will be converted into local currency cash equivalent based on the monthly exchange rate defined by Shangri-La Circle on the actual settlement date.
    4. Points cannot be used to settle any deposit for a Qualifying Event.
    5. Event Planners who wish to use their Points must be authorised by the Event Owner to sign an Event Contract for the Qualifying Event. All relevant details must be clearly stated on the Event Contract including the Event Planner’s full name, Membership number and number of Points to be used for Redemption Awards.
    6. Event Planners must present their Membership cards and valid photo identity documents for verification upon request. The name of the identity document must match the name printed on the Membership card.
    7. Points will be redeemed and deducted from the Event Planner’s account at least 2 days before the later of the last day of the Qualifying Event or the date of the last guest check out from a room booked under an Event Contract. Points can only be redeemed by an Event Planner if sufficient valid Points posted to the Event Planner’s account are available at the time when the redemption is made.
    8. Unless otherwise instructed by the Event Owner, the Company shall be entitled to redeem and deduct the agreed number of Points from the Event Planner’s account even if the Event Planner is no longer engaged or employed by the Event Owner at the time of redemption and deduction of the Points.
    9. Once the invoice is settled, the transaction cannot be voided and the Points used will not be refunded.
    10. The redemption of Points by an Event Planner is subject to all the related terms & conditions stated in the Event Contract.

    viii. Redeeming Awards on Shangri-La Boutique

    1. The number of Points required for each Redemption Product will be subject to a fixed redemption rate of 15 (fifteen) Points to 1 (one) USD or local currency equivalent for the price of the Products. Redemptions for third-party products, including but not limited to delivery charges, are subject to different redemption rates. We reserve the right to amend these redemption rates at any time without prior notice and at our sole discretion.
    2. When a Member places an order by redeeming Points, the corresponding number of Points will be automatically deducted from the Member’s account at the time when such order is confirmed.
    3. Orders for Redemption Products must be placed online on SL Boutique. Members must log into their Shangri-La Circle accounts prior to placing an order that requires the redemption of Points.
    4. Orders for Redemption Products cannot be made in conjunction with any other offers or promotions unless specifically permitted by these Terms of Service.
    5. Redemption Products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
    6. The use of Points for Redemption Products shall be final and the utilised Points are non-refundable.
    7. Members will only be able to earn Points on the Cash portion of their placed orders that were transacted via a mixture of cash and Points.

    L. FAMILY MEMBERSHIP

    i. General Conditions

    1. Only individuals who are family members of Shangri-La Circle Members (family members are defined as Member’s legal spouse, partner, children, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandparents-in-law and siblings), aged 18 and above are eligible as a “Nominee”, aged below 18 years old are eligible as a “Child Nominee”. Corporations or other legal entities cannot be Nominee. Up to a maximum of five individuals can be nominated to a Member’s Family Membership. The list of Nominees / Child Nominees can only be changed maximum five times per calendar year. There is a Review Process after an amendment of the list of Nominees. Nominee will be registered in Member’s Family Membership after completion of the Review Process (subject to Company’s rights in Section L(i)(2) below). Status of the Review Process will be shown on the Family Membership section in the Member's account on the Shangri-La Circle website or Shangri-La Mobile App. Any form of redemption is not allowed to be used by the Nominee until he/she has completed the registration process set out herein and is also a Member of Shangri-La Circle.
    2. To register a Nominee / Child Nominee, a Member must promptly provide the Nominee’s membership number, the Nominee’s / Child Nominee’s full name and all relevant supporting documents as may be required by the Company to verify the identity of the Nominee / Child Nominee and his/her family relationship with the Member. If the Company is not, in its sole discretion, satisfied that the relationship between the Member and the Nominee / Child Nominee can be verified or confirmed, the Company has the right to reject the application. The Company is not obliged to provide any reason or explanation for the outcome of the application.
    3. Nominees who are also Members of Shangri-La Circle are eligible for Room Awards and Non-Room Awards. Members acknowledge that the Company and individual Participating Hotels reserve the right to limit the number of rooms made available for Room Awards for Nominee at their sole and absolute discretion. Upon using the Redemption Awards, hotel reserves the right to request the Nominee to provide his/her proof of identity, confirmation of his/her family relationship to the Member who redeemed the Redemption Awards and any other evidence as the hotel may reasonably request, so that the hotel can verify the identity of the Nominee.
      *It is the responsibility of Members to ensure that any information provided to the Company is true, accurate, complete and up-to-date.  The Company will not be liable for any losses, damages, costs or expenses arising out of or in connection with such information not being true, accurate, complete or up-to-date.
    4. Members can register, change or delete Nominee / Child Nominee online by visiting the Shangri-La Circle website. Member can register, change or delete his/her list of Nominees / Child Nominees for a maximum of five times per calendar year. Any new Nominee / Child Nominee will need to complete the Review Process in order to be registered in the Member’s Family Membership. (subject to the Company’s rights in Section L(i)(2)). An administrative fee to make changes to the Nominee / Child Nominee may be charged to the Member.
    5. Nominees cannot directly claim Redemption Awards. Redemption Awards for Nominees must be redeemed by Members in the same way as they redeem Redemption Awards for themselves.
    6. Members must ensure that the Nominee receiving the Redemption Awards (i) has completed the Review Process and is registered in the Family Membership and (ii) is a Member of Shangri-La Circle, before a Redemption Awards request is made for the relevant Nominee.
    7. The Company shall not be liable in the event that a redemption voucher issued by a Member to a Nominee is subsequently used by another party either known or unknown to the Member. Such voucher will be deemed invalid and the redeemed Points will not be returned.
    8. Save as provided in Section L(ii) below, Shangri-La Circle Membership tier benefits will not be extended to Nominees or accompanying guests.
    9. Members cannot earn Points on Qualifying Incidental Charges spent by Nominee on the Redemption Awards stays.
    10. The Company reserves the right to cancel a Redemption Award and/or terminate the Membership of the relevant Member if it is not satisfied that a Nominee meets the Terms and Conditions herein or if the Member or Nominee engages in any misconduct, fraud or abuses of the Shangri-La Circle benefits and awards. Upon cancellation of a Redemption Award, all Points associated with that redemption shall be forfeited and will not be credited back to the Member. Once Membership is terminated, all benefits and privileges shall cease forthwith and any Points will be forfeited immediately.

    ii. Eligibility of selected Diamond benefits

    Subject to availability and these Terms and Conditions, when a Nominee uses the Room Awards redeemed by Diamond Member, Nominee can enjoy the selected Diamond benefits set out in this sub-section. The selected Diamond benefits that may be enjoyed by Nominee may be changed from time to time at the sole and absolute discretion of the Company.

    M. SHANGRI-LA CIRCLE EVENT REWARDS

    1. Event Planners can earn 1 Point for every USD 5 (or local currency equivalent) Event Spend for a Qualifying Event with a maximum cap of USD 200,000 per Event, which is equivalent to a maximum of 40,000 Points.
    2. Event Planners can earn Tier Points towards qualification for the next higher tier, and renewal of the current tier of the Shangri-La Circle Membership status. Every USD 5 (or local currency equivalent) Event Spend for a Qualifying Event will earn 1(one) Tier Point. Tier Point can be earned only by the primary Event Planner.
    3. Event Planners must be authorised by the Event Owner to earn Points for organising a Qualifying Event and shall release and indemnify the Company against any liability or claim arising from any failure to declare any benefits received under the Planners Rewards or for breach of any applicable law or regulation, gift and incentive policy, guideline or compliance requirement.
    4. A Shangri-La Circle Event Planner may share Points earned for a Qualifying Event with up to two other Event Planners provided that such nomination must be made at the time the Event Contract is signed and is authorised by the Event Owner. Points will be rounded up to the nearest whole number of points. Persons nominated to share points will not be deemed to have organised the event for the purposes of tier upgrades.
    5. To earn Points through Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards, event planners must be registered as a Shangri-La Circle member and indicate that they wish to participate in Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards prior to signing the event agreement with their Shangri-La Circle membership information clearly stated in the event agreement, including for example, the Member’s full name, Membership number and Points to be used, etc.
    6. Only the individual stipulated in the event agreement, the primary member, and the co-event planners with whom the individual, the primary member, has agreed to share Points earned, are eligible to receive Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards on Event Spend for a Qualifying Event (after deducting any event credit and portion of the event charges settled by redemption of Points) associated with the event.
    7. The Event Planner does not need to attend the event to earn Points through Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards. However, the Event Planner must be employed, or contracted by the event owner or organization at the time that the event is actually held and acknowledge that he/she is eligible to earn Points for any eligible events under the applicable laws and regulations, gift and incentive policies, guidelines and compliance requirements of the event owner or organization that the event planner represents at the time that the event planner enters into event agreement. If the Event Planner is no longer contracted or employed by the event owner or organization at the time the event is held, he/she must notify the hotel and Shangri-La Circle may, at its discretion, or at the direction of the event owner/organization, award any associated Points to another member. The Shangri-La Circle Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited from any liability, costs and damages relating to claims of any third party arising from a failure to disclose the receipt of Points or any other incentives.
    8. A qualified event is deemed to have been held on the later of the last day of the event or the date of the last guest check out from a room booked under an event contract. It will be counted as a Qualifying Event when it has been held and paid for in full in accordance with the event agreement. The hotel reserves the right to withhold the points until the bill is settled in full.
    9. Two or more Qualifying Events held by the same event owner or organization over the same dates at the same hotel will be considered as one Qualifying Event and will be subject to the maximum Points that can be earned for one event.
    10. A Qualifying Event is deemed to occur on the last group departure date and has been held and paid for in accordance with the event agreement.
    11. Points will be credited to the Event Planner between two (2) to four (4) weeks after the event has been held and paid for in accordance with the event agreement.
    12. Only individuals can be enrolled for Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards. No corporations or organizations can hold a Shangri-La Circle Membership account or enrol for Shangri-La Circle Event Rewards and are not eligible to earn Points for events.
    13. All terms of this programme are subject to local laws, rules, regulations, and tax restrictions.

    N. LEGAL & PRIVACY

    i. General

    1. These Terms and Conditions represent a legally binding agreement between the Company and a Member.
    2. The Company reserves the right to amend and update these Terms and Conditions from time to time in its sole discretion. Members are reminded to review the Terms and Conditions regularly at Shangri-La Circle website to ensure that they are familiar with the most recent version. By accessing and using Shangri-La Circle, Members agree to be bound by the most recent version of the Terms and Conditions.
    3. To the extent permissible under applicable laws, Members agree to release the Company, its affiliates, and programme partners (including Airline Partners) from any direct or indirect loss, claims, costs, damages or expenses of any kind whatsoever arising out of or in connection with his or her Shangri-La Circle membership.
    4. The Company will endeavour to ensure the availability of products and services provided by programme partners, such as Airline Partners. The Company will not be liable for any loss arising from failure by programme partners to provide such products and/or services. Where a Member uses the services provided by a programme partner, the programme partner’s terms and conditions apply and the Company will not be liable for any loss.
    5. Members will be held responsible for any taxes, levies or duties that arise in connection with Members’ participation in Shangri-La Circle or benefits and all additional costs shall be borne by the Member.
    6. Except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, the Company and its affiliates accept no liability and shall not be responsible for any indirect, consequential, special, economic or exemplary losses or damages howsoever they may arise, whether foreseeable or otherwise with respect to or arising from Shangri-La Circle membership.
    7. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law or arbitral tribunal, such invalidity and unenforceability shall not affect the remainder of the Terms and Conditions which shall continue in full force and effect.
    8. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affect Members’ statutory rights under applicable laws and regulations.
    9. These Terms and Conditions are governed by law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“Hong Kong”).
    10. Unless otherwise required by applicable laws, any dispute, controversy, claim or difference of any kind whatsoever shall arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions against or relating to the Company or any affiliate of the Company under these Terms and Conditions shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Hong Kong in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (“HKIAC”) for the time being in force, which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference in this Section. There will be one (1) arbitrator and the language of the arbitration shall HKIAC Rules be English. The place of arbitration shall be Hong Kong. The governing law of this arbitration clause is Hong Kong law.
    11. The Company retains its right to exercise or enforce any right contained in these Terms and Conditions. In the event that the Company fails to take action, it shall not be deemed as a waiver of its right or prevent it from taking subsequent action in respect of that right or of any other right.

    ii. Data Privacy

    1. The Company requires Members to provide certain personal data in order to ensure the continued operation of Shangri-La Circle, related frequent guest programmes and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Company is not responsible for any loss or failure to deliver Shangri-La Circle Membership and associated benefits as a result of a Member’s failure to provide the Company with up-to-date data. This includes services such as Points or Airline Miles tracking, management and award issuance.
    2. The Company’s Privacy Policy is deemed to be incorporated into the contract between the Company and a Member. All information passed by a Member to the Company will be managed by the above said Privacy Policy. A copy of the Privacy Policy can be found by visiting the Shangri-La Circle website at Privacy Policy.
    3. Members may review and should update any personal data by accessing their Membership profiles on the Shangri-La Circle website or by contacting the Shangri-La Circle Member Services.
    4. Members are required to create their own confidential password when activating their online accounts. Members must ensure that this password is not disclosed to any parties. The Company cannot be held liable for the consequences of any disclosure of the password by Members or unauthorised use of the password, including unauthorised redemption of Points.
    5. As the operator of the Shangri-La Circle, the Company is required to cooperate with any tax and regulatory authority which may request for full details of any Member’s accrual and redemption of Points, as Members may incur tax liability through use of Shangri-La Circle. The Company reserves the right to cooperate with any tax and regulatory authority without incurring any liability.
