Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun participates in Earth Hour 2013

Earth Hour is a global WWF climate change initiative for energy conservation.  Shangri-La Hotel, Changchunwill actively participate in Earth Hour between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. on 23 March 2013.

At the scheduled time, the lights in the hotel lobby, the Lobby Lounge, Shen Café, Shang Palace, the Horizon Club Lounge as well as the Business Centre will be dimmed.  It will be suggested to guests that they make minimal use of electrical appliances in guestrooms, including lights, air conditioning and other electronic facilities, to show their support for environmental protection and energy saving.  The hotel staff are also being encouraged to join this global event even at home.

Since 2000, Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun has been ISO 14001 certificated; it was the first five‑star hotel in Jilin Province to receive such certification.  For years, the hotel has been actively involved in social public charity activities committed to environmental protection and promoting corporate social responsibility activities.

For Earth Hour, the hotel has prepared a dinner by candlelight in Shen Café, “Light of Earth” cocktails in the Lobby Lounge and a children’s choir with candles in the lobby.
