Changchun, China, 19 May 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun presents “The Four Musicians of Bremen”, a musical to be performed by 6- to 12-year-old children from the Dalian Modern Drama Troupe, in the morning and afternoon of Children’s Day, 1 June 2014, at the Grand Ballroom.
The Four Musicians of Bremen, a cartoon based on the story The Bremen Town Musicians by the Brothers Grimm, was released on 1 August 1922. Its story revolves around an old donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster living in different farms. The animals are maltreated by their respective owners, so they leave home and meet one another along the way. Together, they set out for Bremen, a land known for freedom, to realise their dreams of becoming musicians. Unfortunately, everywhere they go, trouble always occurs – whether they are being chased by town folk or a sword fish or being attacked by an army.
On Children’s Day, Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun will bring back the old children’s tale and turn it into a live performance on stage. The 80-minute-long musical will be a mind-blowing display of acrobatics, song and dance by the Dalian Modern Drama Troupe. It is expected to create fun, happiness and, most importantly, joyful moments for kids and their parents. It will be one of the most anticipated children’s entertainment this Children’s Day.
An exclusive festive buffet specially prepared by the hotel chefs for the children and parents will follow after the entertainment at the Grand Ballroom.
Tickets are priced at RMB498, RMB598 and RMB698 net per person, and include a festive buffet lunch or dinner at the Grand Ballroom on Level 2. The musical will be performed from 10 to 11:30 a.m. (1st session) and from 3 to 4:30 p.m. (2nd session) on 1 June 2014.
