Changchun, 3 July 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun will organise Charity Happy Summer Camp activities in Changchun North Lake Wetland Park on 19 July 2014 to raise funds for Xin Jia Village School in Yitong County. The Charity Happy Summer Camp will include a 5-kilometre Colour Mini Marathon, Family Exploration and Baby Treasure Hunting activities.
As an important themed activity of the Changchun Summer Relaxation Festival of China, Charity Happy Summer Camp will provide a healthy, trendy, fun, enjoyable and caring experience. All funds raised will be donated to Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun’s Embrace fund to improve the facilities of Xin Jia Village School.
The 5-kilometre Color Mini Marathon adds fun by spraying colourful powder with joy during the running. Instead of pursuing speed, the Color Mini Marathon emphasises the importance of “participation, entertainment and color”. Participants will get an unprecedented running experience – runners will be “coloured” with corn flour from head to foot at every kilometre point. The powder is environmentally friendly and pollution-free.
The marathon is for adults only and the entry fee is RMB180/person, which includes round-trip transportation, T-shirt, coloured powder sprayer, number cloth, water and sandwich.
Family Exploration is a parent-child activity that requires parents and child to overcome four barriers: filtration of water, run across an “electric net”, stepping over a landmine and climbing a sky net. The family that completes all the tasks within the shortest time will be the winner. The entry fee is RMB190 per family (parents and a child aged 6 to 12 years old).
Baby Treasure Hunting is free for children below five years old. Interested participants may register at the Hotel Front Desk. For more information, please call (86 431) 8898 1818.
