Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun welcomes Andreas Streiber as general manager. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Streiber held a similar position at Golden Flower Hotel, Xian, a post he assumed in January2010.
A native of Germany, Mr. Streiber has over 29 years of hospitality operational and management experience, and has spent the last 10 years in senior management positions at fiveShangri-La group properties in Asia – Shangri-La Hotel, Hangzhou; Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya; Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta; Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu; and Golden Flower Hotel, Xian. He joined the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts group as director of food and beverage at Shangri-La Hotel, Hangzhou in 2002.
Mr. Streiber has worked in a variety of posts at international brand hotels in Europe, North America, South East Asia and China. He began his career as an apprenticeship at Hotel Mövenpick, Germany, in 1983.
Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun was named one of the “Top 125 Asia Hotels” by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler in 2011, and one of the “Top 100 China Hotels” by the readers of Travel + Leisure for four consecutive years. It has been awarded the title of “Best Business Hotel” in Changchun by the readers of Business Traveller for seven consecutive years.
