HANGRI-LA HOTEL, CHANGCHUN CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL HOUSEKEEPING WEEK BY PITCHING FOR GREEN

HANGRI-LA HOTEL, CHANGCHUN CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL HOUSEKEEPING WEEK BY PITCHING FOR GREEN

Changchun, 14 September 2015 – The housekeeping staff at Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun celebrated International Housekeeping Week with a flash mob dance advocating a green and recycled lifestyle outside the hotel lobby in the city’s central area on 14 September 2015.

The hotel also held an exhibition of over 30 handcrafts made by its housekeeping staff using recycled articles at the event.  All the handcrafts were made from discarded materials like tin cans, cardboard, old pokers, empty bottles and old towels, by the hotel’s housekeeping staff, into different articles that could be very useful in daily life, including a vase, tissue box, pet waterloo, storage box and so on.

The huge “crystal tree” and “crystal flower bouquet” were the highlights of the exhibition.  Both were made from over thousands of empty water bottles collected from hotel guestrooms over a period of one month.  These handcrafts were presented to the citizens as a kind reminder for people to reuse and regain the valve from the daily discarded materials and demonstrate that smart creative ideas may reuse the discarded materials.
