The Backyard by Shangri-La is famous for casual waterside dining, but there’s more to us than that chilled Cairns vibe and great views.

We’re Tropical North Queensland on a plate, with our dishes celebrating the best local ingredients, and a menu featuring an abundance of seafood and Australian barbecue favourites.

Think grilled, smoked, seared, charred and roasted.

We are cocktails and charcuterie platters, shady Sunday sessions, buffest breakfasts in the morning sunshine, long lunches on the deck, sunset drinks in the garden, and dreamy dinners under the sparkling fairy lights.
