Maiker Valdivia

Chilean-born Chef Valdivia brings to Aria more than 10 years of experience in the culinary arts gained from working in San Sebastián, a Spanish coastal city in the Basque Autonomous Community that is renowned for its Basque cuisine.  It is the city with the second largest number of Michelin stars per capita in the world, following only Kyoto, Japan.

Chef Maiker has been in China for four years, of which two years were spent in Beijing as an executive chef in a well-known Spanish restaurant. Prior to moving to China, Chef Maiker served at many well-established restaurants in Spain including the Mirador de Ulia, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Donostia, San Sebastián.
