Thai Chef de Cuisine Yanavit Theerasomboonkun

Chef Yanavit has many years of culinary experience gained locally and overseas. He joined Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok in October 2003. While working at the hotel, he participated in the task force that assisted in preparing Thai dishes at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu, during the 12th ASEAN Summit meetings. He loves to cook and is a firm believer of promoting Thailand through his cooking skills. He had the privilege of knowing Chef Charlie Amatyakul (a famous Thai chef), whose father worked at the royal palace and whose mother had cooked for the royal family since the reign of King Rama IV. He stayed at Chef Charlie’s home for 5 years and learned the art of cookery; this was when he fell in love with cooking Thai food. Chef Yanavit joined a local market fair 22 years ago and had the opportunity to prepare Thai dishes for HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. While working at Orchid Hotel, Israel, in 2007, Chef Yanavit cooked for Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak.
