Abu Dhabi, 16 June 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi recently welcomed Tamer Refaat and Matthias Emperhoff as director of sales and director of events management, respectively.
Mr. Refaat joins the Qaryat Al Beri complex from a five-star luxury property in Dubai, where he held a post as assistant director of sales. Previously, he held the roles of senior sales manager in the same company. He went on to become business development manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. Mr. Refaat, of Egyptian nationality, has a solid background in sales for six years from two luxury hotels in Dubai. He holds a bachelor of arts diploma from the Zagazig University in Egypt.
Mr. Emperhoff joins the Qaryat Al Beri complex from Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, where he held a similar position for more than two years. He was previously director of catering and groups in Germany and Qatar for two years. Born and raised in Germany, Mr. Emperhoff has extensive hospitality experience in catering management in various top hotel chains in Europe and the Middle East.
