Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi Welcome the Year of the Horse

Abu Dhabi, 20 January 2014 - Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi will be welcoming the Chinese New Year, this year known as the Year of the Horse, with traditional lion dance performances on 31 January 2014.

The ceremony will commence with the Shangri-La and Traders Troupe opening a rhythmic performance of Chinese drums and cymbals in the lobby of Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi at 11:30am, with lions doing the “pick the greens” ritual or Cai Qing, a symbol of wealth and prosperity. The ceremony will continue in the lobby of Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi at 12:30pm.

In observance of this important Chinese public holiday, guests are invited to join in the celebration at Shang Palace, Shangri-La’s signature Cantonese cuisine restaurant, with a sumptuous four-course set menu that features Salmon Sashimi, Braised Abalone, Season Vegetables and Glutinous Rice Cake with Sorbet, priced at Dhs399++ per person.

A special high tea with Kung Fu tea master performance will be featured in the Lobby Lounge of Shangri-la hotel for a week starting 31 January 2014 from 3pm to 7pm. Our specially created 2014 Zodiac books are available when you dine in Shang Palace or enjoy the high tea in the Lobby Lounge.
