Shangri-La, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, means "the sun and the moon in the heart" in Tibetan. It is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province and the hinterland of Hengduan Mountain Area of Qinghai Tibet Plateau, and is the junction of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet; With a total area of 11613 square kilometers, Shangri-La governs 7 townships and 4 towns. Shangri-La appeared in the British writer, James Hilton's novel "The Lost Horizon" in the 1930s and was yearned for by the world. The Tibetan area of Shangri-La has a long history and beautiful natural scenery. It has Pudacuo National Park, Dukezong Ancient City, Kadansongzanlin Temple, Tiger Leaping Gorge and other scenic spots.

Songzanlin temple
Gadan Songzanlin temple is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Yunnan Province. It is also one of the famous temples in Kang district and the center of yellow religion in Sichuan and Yunnan. It plays an important role in the whole Tibetan region and is known as the "little potala palace". The temple is built close to the mountain and looks like an ancient castle. It is a masterpiece of Tibetan plastic arts. It is also known as the "Tibetan Art Museum"

 

Dukezong ancient city
Dukezong ancient city has a history of more than 1300 years. It is the best preserved and largest Tibetan residential group in China. Dukezong ancient city is built on the mountain. The road surface is uneven. It is paved with some old stones and natural terrain. By 2021, there are still deep horse hoof prints on the stone road, which is a keepsake left by the caravan for time. For the caravans crossing the ancient tea horse road, the ancient city of Dukezong is an important town on the ancient tea horse road and the first stop of the caravans after they entered Tibet. This is a very comfortable section of the road. In 2001, Dukezong ancient city was approved as a famous historical and cultural city in Yunnan Province

 

Pudacuo National Park
Pudacuo National Park, located in the center of the "Three Parallel Rivers" World Natural Heritage in Northwest Yunnan, is composed of two parts: Bitahai Nature Reserve, an internationally important wetland, and the zhidu Lake scenic spot in Haba area, a "Three Parallel Rivers" world natural heritage. It is mainly composed of Bitahai, zhidu lake, and militang subalpine pasture. It is also one of the main tourist attractions in Shangri La
