On November 10, 2024, Shangri-La Yiwu hosted an intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting experience at the hotel ballroom, featuring Gong Lingxiang, the representative inheritor of Yiwu paper-cutting. Master Gong, a recipient of the Jinhua Arts and Crafts Master title, has won multiple gold awards at expos and has long dedicated herself to promoting paper-cutting culture through community initiatives.
During the event, Master Gong explained the origins of paper-cutting and demonstrated techniques using Yiwu's city flower, the rose, and the character "Spring" (春). Guests tried their hand at paper-cutting under her guidance, creating delicate rose patterns while immersing themselves in the charm of traditional craftsmanship.
This cultural experience not only deepened guests' appreciation for paper-cutting art but also strengthened the bond between family, art, and life. Shangri-La Yiwu remains committed to preserving traditions and giving back to the community through meaningful cultural engagement.
