Tokyo's Best Shopping Destinations

Ginza

One of the best regarded shopping districts in the whole of Japan, if not the world, is Ginza. It is the site of fashionable boutiques, department stores, restaurants, and jewelry shops.

Kabukiza, a traditional Japanese Kabuki theatre, and Tsukiji, the world's large fish market, are nearby.

Nihonbashi

One of Tokyo's oldest commercial districts, a mere seven-minute walk away from the hotel.

It features iconic landmarks such as Japan's first department store, Mitsukoshi and contemporary retail complexes such as COREDO Muromachi, offering everything from traditional crafts to luxury goods.

Filled with historic shrines and streets that reveal layers of old Edo charm, Nihonbashi offers a shopping experience that feels both deeply rooted and distinctly upscale. Visitors can explore traditional washi paper shops and craft stores to gourmet food halls and contemporary fashion, making it a captivating destination for culture seekers and luxury shoppers alike.

Akihabara

Akihabara is Tokyo’s Electric Town. It is the hub of Japan’s gaming, manga and animatronics subculture.

Housing about 650,000 items at any given time, Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba is a large shopping mall of electronics. Electronic powerhouse Ishimaru Denki has nine branches in Akihabara alone, four of which are exceptionally large stores.

Aficionados should look out for the Tokyo Animation Centre, which provides information and demonstrations on animation and gaming.
