Shangri-La Tianjin, established its Embrace project in January 2015. Working with the "Healing Young Hearts (HYH)" volunteer project, the hotel supports the development of hospital activity packs. Founded by Cathay Future, HYH aims to support children who suffer from severe illnesses in hospital.

Hospital activity packs are designed to make hospital stays less stressful for children undergoing treatment for life-threatening diseases. Each pack contains a 28-page activity booklet filled with stories, colouring pages, crafts and games; a pack of crayons; scissors; glue; colourful stickers and a bag. All the stories are specifically developed for children who are undergoing chemotherapy. The stories are aimed at providing children with a positive image of themselves and their medical journey, acknowledging them as the brave and determined fighters that they are. 

SLTJ’s volunteers visit hospital together with HYH volunteers. The activity packs are distributed to children. Our volunteers read stories, play games, and make handicrafts with kids, bringing them great joy.
