About Sanya
Sanya is China’s southern city with some 10,000 years of recorded history.
In 1992, archaeologists unearthed human relics that are among some of the earliest known; while groups of graves from ancient Persia were found along the coast.
Historically, Sanya was known as Yazhou and described as “the end of the earth”, owing to the city’s distance from the mainland and the central government.
