At Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang, we advance biodiversity conservation through Shangri-La’s Care for Nature Project, partnering with the Department of Fisheries to support Turtle Care activities in Penang National Park. Regular visits to the Turtle Conservation Centre help guests and participants learn about conservation work for the Green Sea Turtle and Olive Ridley, while contributing to improved hatchling survival.
Turtle conservation is complemented by engaging interactive activities at the resort for both guests and local schoolchildren. Programmes include story-telling sessions to inspire curiosity, craft-making workshops using discarded hotel recyclables to promote circular living, and interactive learning sessions with the Department of Fisheries and environmental NGOs to deepen understanding of how actions can support wildlife and habitats.
We also actively support the International Day for Biological Diversity, embracing the global theme of living in harmony with nature and promoting sustainable biodiversity practices.
