This September, Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong proudly presents the Luna Afternoon Tea, presented aboard the elegantly restored tram at the Lobby Lounge. This full moon-inspired culinary journey will feature sweet and savoury delights artfully shaped into delicate miniature mooncakes, blending East-meets-West flavours to honour Mid-Autumn Festival traditions. This year, the experience is elevated through an exclusive collaboration with celebrated Japanese pâtissier Hironobu Tsujiguchi. Chef Tsujiguchi’s limited-edition mooncake that masterfully combines Japanese pastry artistry with the festival’s enduring themes of connection and sophistication, will debut at the season’s most anticipated afternoon tea in town.
Moonlit Harmony Pastry - A Contemporary Mooncake by Chef Hironobu Tsujiguchi
Chef Hironobu Tsujiguchi, a third-generation artisan celebrated for his poetic craftsmanship, reimagines the mooncake with a delicate fusion of rose, strawberry, and chocolate. Encased in a modern, velvet-smooth buttery mooncake exterior, this creation offers a melt-in-the-mouth texture with enticing floral notes. This mooncake is a heartfelt expression of Mid-Autumn Festival’s warmth and notions of togetherness, while marrying Japanese precision with festive tradition.
