In 2019, Shangri-La Jakarta started the group’s Embrace Project partnership with Putra Nusa, a local community orphanage housing vulnerable and underprivileged children for more than 60 years. Shangri-La Jakarta has been helping Putra Nusa with renovating the buildings, donating on-site learning support such as computers, and providing regular medical check-ups for those in need.

On-going and future programs with Putra Nusa

With full support from all staff and stakeholders, Shangri-La Jakarta is committed to implementing a long-term plan with Putra Nusa Orphanage, including vocational training and work experience. The opportunity is open for children who are interested to apply for hospitality apprenticeships, in the hope it will give them useful skills and knowledge, and bring a positive impact to their futures.
