Get Around With Ease
The best way to get around Abu Dhabi is by car, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time sight-seeing in far-flung areas of the emirate, however taxis and public transport can help you navigate the main city with ease.
Taxis
Inexpensive and plentiful, individual registered taxis can be flagged down by the roadside. Taxis are also available outside hotels, malls and restaurants. Alternatively, they can be booked by telephone.
Water taxis, also known as abras, can shuttle you through the winding waterways that connect the Qaryat Al Beri complex.
Ride-Hailing
Ride-hailing apps are plentiful in Abu Dhabi. Homegrown options like Careem and Onak share the road with the global behemoth Uber, quickly getting you from point A to point B with just a tap.
Public Transit
Abu Dhabi municipality runs comprehensive bus routes both within the emirate and to other areas of the UAE. The airport-to-city-centre service runs at regular intervals.
