Shangri-La's Fijian Resort and Spa, Yanuca, Fiji, is located on Yanuca Island, which is connected via a short causeway to Viti Levu.

A 9% Value Added Tax (VAT) and 5% Environmental and Climate Adaption Levy (ECAL) will be applied. These may change as mandated by the government.


Tipping is not encouraged in Fiji. It is up to the individual’s discretion whether to make a gratuity.

In lieu of daily tipping, some resorts operate a staff fund where tips are shared.

Public Health

Fiji is a tropical country with less major tropical diseases. It has an effective medical system in place, although local people still believe in the efficacy of age-old herbal remedies.

Fresh water at the resort has been treated and is safe to drink from the tap. Bottled water is also available at the resort.


Bring along light clothing for summer months and a sweater for the cooler months. Suits are appropriate for business occasions. Shorts and t-shirts are frowned upon in government offices.

It is more respectable to wear modest dress in towns and rural areas.


Fiji is tropically warm year-around. Average temperatures range from 19°C at night to 29°C during the day. The rainy season is from November to March.
