Transportation

Set off across Tokyo

Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo, is conveniently located in the centre of the city. You can get around city via taxis, public transit or rental cars.

Taxis

Taxis are plentiful, but dense traffic in the city centre can make even short distances time consuming.

Fares are JPY 710 for the first two kilometres, and 80 yen for each 274 metres thereafter.

Please note that a 20% surcharge is added from 11pm to 5am.

Public Transit

Trains

In the centre of Tokyo, the elevated JR Trains are often the best transit option.

Tokyo Station is less than five minutes’ walk from the hotel. Day passes are available for purchase at the station.

Buses

Most bus routes in Tokyo charge a fixed fare regardless of their destination.

For buses that operate outside of the 23 wards, passengers take a ticket when boarding at the rear of the bus and pay the fare according to the electric signboard at the front of the bus on departure.

Subway

The nearest station is Otemachi Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line.

Car Hire

If you would like a chauffeur-driven or rental car, Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo, will be happy to make the necessary arrangements.

You need to show your driver's license (international driver's licenses are accepted) when renting a car. Cars are rented in blocks of six, 12 and 24 hours.
