Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney has begun working with a local Australian children’s charity – A Start in Life - which is dedicated to helping families from challenged economic circumstances by nurturing their children’s education and growth. The hotel will be working closely with the charity to help a small number of children with their schooling as well as urging them to enjoy life to the fullest, despite the financial restrictions placed on them. The hotel will also be helping to educate the older students about possible career paths and helping them prepare to leave school and find a stable job in their local community.
Helping two Australian families in need
Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney will be working with two families on a regular basis to provide financial support and advice on the children’s education, after-school activities and family life. Our support will include learning about the individual needs of the family and providing school supplies, sports equipment, uniforms and computers to help the kids learn and have fun.
Career Day at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney
Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney will hold two Career Days at the hotel in 2014, where we will develop a short curriculum to introduce students to the different areas of the hospitality industry. The students will also be taught about interview skills, resume writing and personal grooming.
