Taxis in Suzhou are cheap and plentiful. Taxis are
available at the hotel or may be hailed from the street.

Public Transit
Trains
An efficient and scenic way of travelling within
China, trains link most parts of the country with reliable services. Classes
include Soft Seat or Soft Sleeper with air-conditioning, and Hard Seat or Hard
Sleeper.
Suzhou is on the Nanjing-Shanghai train line. The
fastest train to Shanghai takes about 24 minutes.
Buses
Suzhou has three long-distance bus terminals with
connections to every major place in the region, including Hangzhou, Shanghai,
Wuxi, Nanjing and Zhouzhuang.
Travelling by bus to Shanghai takes 1 hour, and is slightly more expensive than taking the train.
Ferry
Cruising the city canals aboard a boat is an excellent
way to see the city, especially at night.
Car Hire
Getting around the city in a car with a driver is a
safe and comfortable transport option.
