CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La, draws inspiration from the origins of the Shangri-La legend, which describes a place of personal peace, enchantment and well-being. Surrounded by lush gardens, the spa is located in the resort’s Garden Wing. It has 15 treatment suites, a sauna, a steam room, Jacuzzis and a dedicated relaxation room with garden access. Guests will find all the signature treatments on the list of offerings. However, the resort’s CHI, The Spa presents two original treatments, showcasing local Hainanese ingredients and elements.
In traditional Chinese philosophy, ch’i is the universal life force that governs well-being and personal vitality. For good health, ch’i must flow freely within the body and, when blocked, illness is believed to follow.
Movement is therefore the key to good health, through exercise, massage, stretching and hydrotherapy. Meditation and relaxation techniques encourage movement of the mind.
