Executive Chef Eric Soong
Eric Soong has been the Executive Chef of Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao since 2013. Eric is in charge of the overall culinary concepts and he is also the main chef in charge of the Italian restaurant, Da Vinci. Under his helm, Eric has lead his restaurants to numerous awards and features in magazines.
Eric's experience started in Singapore. He has, however, worked for over 15 years at various five-star restaurants in hotels throughout Asia and the Middle East
Eric uses his background in French and Italian cuisine as his fundamental cooking methods. His philosophy is “The stars in the kitchen will always be the excellent products used." With this in mind, he is consistently searching for the freshest and highest quality seasonal products. His menu reflects seasonal specialties which are converted into light and healthy dishes with a creative presentation. His daily challenge is to delight diners at Da Vinci with signature dishes, local fresh seafood and light Italian creations.
