Taxis
Taxis in Qingdao are cheap
and plentiful, and always on the lookout for customers. Taxis are available at
the hotel or may be hailed from the street. Fares begin at RMB 9.
Public Transit
Trains
Trains offer a reliable,
efficient and scenic way of travelling within China.
You may travel in one of
four classes: Soft Seat or Soft Sleeper with air-condition; and the Hard Seat
or Hard Sleeper.
All trains from Qingdao go
through the provincial capital of Ji’nan, except for the direct Qingdao to
Yantai trains. There are two daily express trains to Beijing, and daily service
to Shanghai, Zhengzhou and Dandong.
Buses
Buses and minibuses depart
from the area next to the Hualian Building, just south of the train station.
Buses depart regularly for Weihai, Yantai and Ji’nan. There also daily
departures for Beijing, Hangzhou, Hefei and Shanghai.
Car Hire
Getting
around the city in a car and a driver is a safe and comfortable transport
option. Rates vary depending on the size and make of the vehicle.
