Taxis, public transport and trishaws remain popular
ways of getting around the city.
Taxi
Most taxis do not run on meters. For short trips
within George Town, expect to pay around MYR 30. We can arrange a taxi pickup
for you at the resort.
Public Transit
BusRapid Penang, the main bus company in the state has
an extensive route covering the island and mainland.
You can take 401, 401A and 401E to George Town. The
fare for trips is MYR 1.40 for the first 7km, and goes up to a maximum of MYR
4.
TrishawThese three-wheeled trishaws were once a common form
of transport in and around George Town. Today they are enjoyed mostly by
visitors, and are limited to the city centre.
Most
drivers charge around MYR 15 per hour.
