India Gate
The India Gate was built to commemorate the Indian and British soldiers who died in World War I, and those who fell in the Third Afghan War. An eternal flame, “Amar Jawan Jyoti” burns in memory of those who died in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. Around India Gate are the stately homes of Indian princes, including Hyderabad House where many official state banquets are held.
Purana Qila
Purana Qila (“Old Fort”) stands on an ancient mound. It is the site where Humayun, the second Mughal emperor, began construction of his city, Dinpanah. The site has been continuously occupied since 1000 B.C. and offers a full day’s worth of sightseeing and education about Delhi’s rich history.
Rashtrapati Bhavan
Designed as the focal point of New Delhi during British rule, today this palace is the President of India’s official residence. For early risers, the changing of the guard ceremony occurs at 6.30am as weather permits. The nearby Mughal Gardens are also worth exploring.
Humayun Tomb
Humayun's tomb is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's first wife Bega Begum (Hajji Begum) in 1569-70, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian architect. It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. The tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993 and it’s a must visit tourist attraction.
Akshardham Temple
Akshardham is a Hindu temple complex in Delhi. Also, referred to as Swaminarayan Akshardham, the complex displays a millennia of traditional Indian culture, spirituality and architecture. The Temple, which attracts approximately 70 percent of all tourists who visit Delhi, was officially opened in 2005.
The Red Fort
The Red Fort is a 17th Century fort complex constructed by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan in the walled city of old Delhi that served as the residence of the Mughal Emperors.
The Prime Minister hoists the National flag at the Red Fort, followed by a nationally broadcast speech.

Lodhi Gardens
Established between the 15th and 16th centuries by the powerful dynasties of the Sayyids and Lodis, the beautiful gardens occupy 90 acres of land.
Historically important relics such as the tombs of Muhammed Shah and Sikander Lodi can be found here. The intricately constructed Bara-Gumbad, an early Mughal-era mosque, also stands in the gardens.
Mughal Gardens
Mughal gardens are a type of gardens built by the Mughals. This style was influenced by the Persian gardens particularly the Charbagh structure, which is intended to create a representation of an earthly utopia in which humans co-exist in perfect harmony with all elements of nature. Significant use of rectilinear layouts are made within the walled enclosures. Some of the typical features include pools, fountains and canals inside the gardens.
Sunder Nursery Park
Sunder Nursery is flanked by the World Heritage Site of Humayun’s Tomb (Above) on the South and the historic Purana Qila (Below) on the North and aligned to the historic Grand Trunk Road on the West. It was originally established in the early 20th century when the Imperial Delhi complex was being planned and constructed.

Jantar Mantar
Considered a great Indian masterpiece, the Jantar Mantar is part of a series of five astrological buildings constructed by Maharajah Jai Singh II. Jantar Mantar is the largest of the five structures. The 14 geometric devices of this remarkable structure were extensively used to measure time, predict the behaviour of planets, forecast weather and identify extraterrestrial altitude. These structures not only showcase the impressive architectural skills of the Indian people but also display their scientific prowess.
National Museum
Five millennia of Indian history can be discovered at the National Museum. The collection of more than 150,000 pieces of art, artefacts and Central Asian treasures is acknowledged as among the finest in the world.
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
The Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is an important Sikh gurdwara (Sikh praying place), in Delhi. It is mostly known for its affiliation with the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan. It was first constructed in 1783 as a miniature devotional temple by the Sikh General, Sardar Bhagel Singh, during the rule of Shah Alam.
The lake in the premises, better known as the “Sarovar” is very important to the religious faith of the Sikh community. Its water is considered to be “Amrit” or the elixir of life.
The Iskcon Temple
The ISKCON temple in Delhi is a religious site of repute in India. ISKON temples are found in several cities in India and the organization strives to reach out to all the religious people. Iskcon stands for International society for Krishna Consciousness. It belongs to the Vaishnavite school of thought so the patrons of this temple are believers of Vishnu.
Jama Masjid
Emperor Shah Jahan built the Jama Masjid (Place of Prayer) in the Old Delhi. It was the most important mosque of Old Delhi in 1656 and it remains the most cherished and revered one even today. This makes it a very important place for Indian Muslims as well as Muslims from other countries. Jama Masjid is also home to several lyrics from the Mughal period and hence an interesting place to visit.
Dilli Haat
Dilli Haat is an open-air market, food plaza, and craft bazaar located in Delhi. It is located in the commercial centres of South Delhi, opposite INA market. Over the years, Dilli Haat became a venue of crafts, music, dance and cultural festivals.

Chandni Chowk
To experience a truly authentic Indian shopping district, look no further than Chandni Chowk. Connaught Place
Connaught Place is one of the largest financial, commercial and business centers in Delhi. It was developed as a showpiece of Lutyens' Delhi featuring a Central Business District. Palika Bazaar, Mohan Singh Place, Janpath, Tibetan Market and the shops in Inner Circle are some of the most popular shopping areas in Connaught Place.
Khan Market
Khan Market, is a shopping district and one of the most popular retail market in New Delhi, India. In 2019, Cushman & Wakefield rated Khan Market as the world’s 20th most expensive commercial street. Today it has grown to become one of the most expensive commercial real estate locations in the city. It has a wide variety of stores, including modern showrooms of most of well-known brands.
