Nanchang is the only provincial capital city in the Yangtze River Delta, the Zhujiang River Delta and the Southeast Fujian Delta, the economically vigorous development areas in China.  It is located at the intersection of the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway and it is the only provincial capital city on the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, which connects East, West, South and North China.

Tengwang Pavilion 

The Tengwang Pavilion was first built in the early Tang Dynasty and is a 4-A scenic spot. It lies on the Gan River. The Tengwang Pavilion, the Huanghe Pavilion and the Yueyang Pavilion are called the three famous pavilions to the south of the Yangtze River. Wang Bo came here and wrote the eternal masterpiece - "Preface to the Tengwang Pavilion".

Badashanren Museum (in Qingyunpu District) 

Badashanren Museum lies on the bank of Mei Lake. During the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, the outstanding painting master Zhuda (his literary name is Badashanren) ever enclosed himself there. In order to commemorate Zhu Da, the first ancient painter museum was built at this site.

Anyi Ancient Village  

The Ancient Village Group of Anyi is a well-preserved national cultural heritage located at the foot of MeiLing Mountain for over 1,400 years, which is 60km away from downtown and 30km away from the Changbei International Airport. It is a national 4A scenic spot and its ancient buildings are mainly distributed in the three natural villages in Luotian, Shuinan, and Jingtai.

Shenjin Pagoda 

The Shenjin Pagoda was first built in the late Tang Dynasty. To dig the land and build the pagoda, an iron container with an ancient sword, a gold rope and some Buddhist relics were needed. For this reason, it was named Shenjin Pagoda.

Marquis of Haihun’ Tomb Museum of Han Dynasty 

The Marquis of Haihun Tomb Site of Han Dynasty in Nanchang City is composed of the Zijin City site, the first generation of Marquis of Haihun Liuhe’s cemetery, and the western and southern tombs of the city cite. It is the typical ruins of the capital city in Han Dynasty with the most complete structure and the richest content ever found in China. The site is located in the northeast of Nanchang Xinjian District, 45km away from downtown. Since the start of archaeological excavations in 2011, more than 10,000 pieces of various precious cultural relics, including gold, bronze, and jade artefacts etc have been unearthed so far. The number and variety of cultural relics are the highest in the archaeology of Han tombs in China.

Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, is the centre of Jiangxi’s politics, economy and culture.

Nanchang is a famous historical and cultural city with a history of over 2,200 years. It has been described as “a given land abundant in natural resources and outstanding in producing talented figures”. Moreover, Nanchang is a heroic city with a glorious revolutionary tradition. The People’s Liberation Army was born here and “the August 1st Spirit” appeared here. In addition, Nanchang is a scenic and environmentally friendly city with beautiful mountains, rivers and lakes. The Gan River passes through the city from south to north, and the whole city is dotted with rivers and lakes. At the outskirts of the city you can see green mountains. 

At present, Nanchang is striving to be a “modern regional economically central city ”and a “modern civilized garden heroic city”.

The Qingshan Lake Scenic Spot
Qingshan Lake is located in the northeastern part of Nanchang City and covers a water area of 4,600 mu. Qingshan Lake used to be badly polluted, but now it has become an integrated scenic spot with flood disputing, sightseeing and entertaining after comprehensive improvement.

The Xiang Lake Scenic Spot
Xiang Lake is located in the southern part of Nanchang City and covers a water area of 6,800 mu. It got its name because its shape is like an elephant. After planning and improvement, the Xiang Lake Scenic Spot has become a comprehensive scenic spot in classic-Chinese-garden style. The comprehensive improvement programme of the lake was awarded the “the Model of Chinese Living Environment” award by the Chinese Ministry of Construction.

The Meiling Mountain Scenic Spot
Meiling Mountain is located in the western suburb of Nanchang by the bank of Poyang Lake and covers an area of 150 square kilometers. It is a 4-A scenic spot. Meiling Mountain is one of the holy sites of Buddhism and Taoism and features precipitous mountains and humanistic landscapes.

Lu Mountain
Jiu Jiang, which is 1.5 hrs away by car, is famous for its waterfalls and mountain views. In addition, an old poem that was written by the well-known  poet Li Bai was composed for the area during the Tang dynasty.

Sanqing Mountain
Shangrao, which is 2.5 hrs away by car, is a renowned Taoist mountain with outstanding scenery.

Wuyuan
Wuyuan, which is 2.5 hrs away by car, was named as one of the beautiful villages in China.

Longhu Mountain
Longhu Mountain, which is 2 hrs away by car, is a renowned Taoist mountain with outstanding scenery.

Badashanren Memorial Hall(in Qingyunpu District)

Museum of August 1 Nanchang Uprising 

Museum of August 1 Nanchang Uprising lies at the site of the August 1 Nanchang Uprising Headquarters (the former Jiangxi Great Hotel). In 1977, Museum of August 1 Nanchang Uprising was named as one of the hundred patriotic education demonstrating bases by the Central Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party. President Jiang Zemin made the following inscription at the site: “This Is the Sacred Place Where the People’s Liberation Army Was Born”. In 2007, in memory of the 80th anniversary of the Nanchang Uprising, this museum was rebuilt on a large scale.
