Shahrazad is a striking and elegant restaurant that features the cuisines of the Arabian peninsula, including Omani specialities. Offering booth seating for couples and live entertainment from an Arabic duo, the venue offers a setting for guests seeking a special or romantic occasion. Private dining, indoor and romantic al fresco terrace seating is available.

The signature dish is fattoush, a traditional chopped salad dressed in a zesty lime vinaigrette, prepared at the table by the chef with style and flair. Shahrazad has a wide beverage selection of wines from all over the world with a specific selection of Lebanese wines and Arak.

Reserved for in-house guests only and perched above Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa’s exclusive private beach,  Mahhara Beach Bar serves a range of light salads, sandwiches, and refreshing drinks. Fresh seafood caught straight from the ocean prepared on a live flame grill is a specialty at this scenic spot, and should be enjoyed with a refreshing beverage from the selected wine list or signature cocktail while absorbing views of the Gulf of Oman. Guests can relax and listen to the sound of waves crashing under the shade.

In the evenings, the nearby beach cliffs set the scene for our intimate Dine by Design dining options.

Al Muheet


Friendly and casual, Al Muheet lies adjacent to the resort’s exclusive infinity pool and showcases inspiring views over the Gulf of Oman.

Offering tropical drinks, creative cocktails and light meals, the restaurant focuses on healthy dishes made with organic ingredients.

The intriguing menu includes organic burgers, sandwiches, fresh salads and servings of local produce, allowing for more health conscious dining decisions.

Exclusively for in-house guests only, the main dining area at the pool’s waterfall feature acts as a lively social space, facilitating bigger parties where you can celebrate, see and be seen.

Shane O’Neill

Executive Chef Shane O’Neill joined Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa in October, 2016. Prior to this, he was executive chef at Shangri-La Jing An in Shanghai.

In his current role, Chef oversees 19 food and beverage outlets, both at Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa and adjacent sister property Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, and leads a team of over 180 chefs and runs banqueting facilities with capacity for up to 3,000 guests.

With international experience in markets as diverse as the UK, Middle East, and Asia, Chef Shane always goes that extra mile to delight guests by creating engaging culinary experiences. Highly motivated, he is committed to producing the highest-quality meals, and relishes any opportunity to take on new challenges, and learn new skills in the pursuit of new standards of excellence.
