Manzhouli, which means "Luxuriant Spring Water" in Mongolian, is located in the northern part of Inner Mongolia near the border with Russia, and enjoys a mix of Chinese, Mongolian and Russian culture.
The city is dotted with many castle-like buildings. Matryoshka Square is famous for the large Russian matryoshka doll erected in the plaza.
The National Gate is a favourite site for tourists. In summer, the well-known Hulunbuir grassland with the meandering river is the signature attraction for visitors.
Apart from lots of scenic spots, the city has experienced a boom as a centre of border trade between China and Russia
Visas
All international travellers require visas although Brunei, Japan, and Singapore passport holders are able to enjoy visa-free access to China for up to 15 days.
Standard 30-day, single-entry visas can be issued in three to five working days from most Chinese embassies, and must be used within three months of the date of issue. Longer visas are often more difficult to obtain.
For further details, consult with your travel agent, China International Travel Service, China Travel Service, or any Chinese embassy or consulate.
