Nature Interpretation Centre

The Rasa Ria Nature Reserve was established by Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort in collaboration with the State Wildlife Department of Sabah.

This protected ecological space aims to facilitate rehabilitation programmes for endangered species of animals as well as those endemic in Sabah. The Rasa Ria Nature Reserve provides a home until they ready to be rehabilitated into their natural habitat.

Bird Watching

Conducted at the 64-acres coastal vegetation site, habitat for over 60 species of birds, witness birds which are only available in Borneo.  Suggested attire would be t-shirt, trousers and walking boots.

Enjoy your morning coffee whilst birding at the 10m high canopy walkway to be able to witness different species of birds in which some are only endemic in Borneo.

Jungle Walk

Trail consists of the Bird-Watching, the Nature, the Honeymoon and the Native Trail.  Walk is guided by experienced Forest Ranger.  Considering various factors, the Ranger will decide which trail is most suitable for the respective morning or afternoon jungle walk.  Proper jungle attire should be worn such as good walking shoes, hat and insect repellent.

Witness the sunrise with backdrop of Mt. Kinabalu - South East Asia's highest mountain while enjoying your continental breakfast at the 15ft high observation tower located at the highest point of the Nature Reserve.
