Sule Shangri-La, Yangon Launches Two-Month-Long Mango Festival

Sule Shangri-La, Yangon celebrates the mango season with an overload of mango goodness throughout its restaurants and bar. From May to June, guests will be welcomed by the sweet aroma and taste of mangoes in all its delicious forms.

One of the widely consumed fruits in the world, mangoes are also very popular in Myanmar. There are over 400 varieties of mangoes in the world and Myanmar is said to have more than 100 of these species with a great variety in taste, colour and shape.

For this mango festival, the chefs of Sule Shangri-La, Yangon are using Sein Ta Lone, regarded as the local mango variety. Directly translated as “one diamond,” Sein Ta Lone is said to be comparable to mangoes in the world because of its delightful aroma, sweetness, juiciness and non-fibrous nature.

Here are the many delicious ways to eat, drink and enjoy mangoes at Sule Shangri-La, Yangon:

Gourmet Shop
For those who crave mangoes in its pure, sweet form, special mango gift boxes are available at the mango counter by the Gourmet Shop. Sule Shangri-La, Yangon in-house guests will enjoy 10 per cent savings on every purchase.
