“The Shangri-La Home” at Huhhot Children’s Welfare House opened in 2010 with the aim of taking care of 15 – 18 children aged 0-3 years old who were abandoned by their families. Many of these children suffer from various diseases and disabilities. Since opening, the home has hired five nurses to take care of the abandoned babies, ensuring they are well looked after during their early years. Today, the Shangri-La Home has set a benchmark and become a model for other welfare projects in the region.
Recently, the home held a special birthday party for the children and hotel staff members celebrating birthdays around the same time. The event was a creative way to give back to the staff while doing some good in the community. All the participants had a joyful time together.
