Taxis

Taxis in Hong Kong are a bargain in comparison with many other international cities.

Taxi fare is HKD 20 for the first 2 kilometres, and HKD 1.50 for each 200 metres thereafter. The passenger must pay the harbour tunnel toll upon returning to Kowloon from Hong Kong Island.

Public Transit

MTR 

The MTR (Mass Transit Railway) is an extensive subway system interconnecting Hong Kong Island, as well as the Kowloon Peninsula and Lantau Island.

Star Ferry 

An icon of the city for decades, the Star Ferry offers a leisurely 7-minute ride across the Victoria Harbour for just HKD 2.50 - HKD 3, and the locals still take it routinely. There is one just about every five minutes, operating from early in the morning until 11pm and covering two routes: one between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, and one between Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai.

The Star Ferry terminal in Kowloon is a 15-minute walk from the hotel along the harbour promenade.

In addition, the East Rail of MTR, located at the doorstep of the hotel, offers frequent direct train service from Kowloon to the New Territories and the Mainland China border.

Trams 

The historic double-decker tramway runs on Hong Kong Island between Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town, with a branch in Happy Valley. While 240,000 residents still commute by tram every day, this mode of transport has been in operation since 1904 and is a popular sightseeing attraction.

Car Hire

A private car is a safe and comfortable way to get around Hong Kong. Private car rental cost is HKD 650 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours.

Daily valet cost is HKD 450. Also take into account tunnel tolls and parking fees if applicable.

Peak Tram

The Peak Tram, a funicular railway which has been in operation since 1888, climbs a steep 373 meters up the lush mountainside of Victoria Peak.
