Fuzhou is famous for its lacquer ware, bamboo furniture and stone and cork carvings. The
city is also famous for its "clay people", small clay figurines painted in
bright colours.
A good place to look for souvenirs is in the
Huadu Department Store, where you'll find paper parasols, jade combs, and other
mementos.
Shops are open seven days a week, from 9am to 9pm. Large
shopping centres may stay open to 10pm. Night
markets usually run their business up to twilight. Bargaining is only possible
with private vendors in street stalls.
