Quick Facts
A glimpse of the scenery and prosperity in the west of Beijing
Located in the core area of Shougang Park which is known as a "New Landmark of Beijing's Urban Renaissance", Shangri-La Shougang Park, Beijing embraces the stunning view of Shijingshan and Qunming Lake. Shijingshan, an extension of the Taihang Mountains at the east of Yongding River, is crowned as the "First Immortal Mountain" with a height of only 184 m. As early as in the Neolithic Period, people lived and multiplied in this place where King Yu tamed the flood and King Zhao of Yan built three famous palaces and one pavilion later. Liu Ji, the Youzhou Chancellor of the Tang dynasty, engraved and stored scriptures in Shijiangshan, where you can also find the stone inscription on the taming of Yongding River in the Yuan dynasty. From the Monument Pavilion on the mountain top, you can appreciate a panoramic view of Shougang Park, the city of Beijing and the western suburbs in fine weather.
