Transportation

Explore the city at your ease

Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian, is an excellent hub from which guests can experience the city and surrounding environs.

Dalian’s central district is not large and can generally be covered on foot. Otherwise, private cars, taxis and light rail are convenient ways to experience journeys beyond the city.

Taxis

Taxis in Dalian are cheap, plentiful and always on the lookout for customers. Most taxis are metered, with fares starting at RMB 8 (USD 1)

Public Transport

SM Trains offer a reliable, efficient and scenic way of travelling within China. You may travel in one of four classes: Soft Seat or Soft Sleeper with air-condition; and the Hard Seat or Hard Sleeper.

Please note that the Dalian train station is notoriously overcrowded. For easy and worry-free trips, we recommend you speak with our hotel service staff.

Buses

There are regular buses to Dandong and a daily express bus to Beijing, the journey to which takes 9 hours. Please enquire with the hotel staff on bus ticketing and details of transport.
