Beihai Park
One of Beijing's many beautiful parks, Beihai Park and
its surrounding lake is a peaceful place to stroll, grab a snack, rent a boat,
and watch calligraphers practicing characters on the paving slabs with brushes
and water.
The park was built by the Great Khan centuries before
the Forbidden City.
Olympic Park
Constructed upon the arrival of the Olympic Games to Beijing, the Olympic Park, or the Beijing Olympic Green as it is commonly known, is one of the most eye-catching areas of the city and covers an expanse of approximately 1, 135 hectares.
Landscaped and designed to perfection, the Olympic Park houses several stadiums which were utilized during the 2008 Beijing Olympics such as the National Stadium or the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube which is also called the National Aquatics Centre.
