National Museum
A former royal palace in Bangkok, Vimanmek Mansion is also known as the Vimanmek Teak Mansion. This impressive three storey palace is the biggest golden teak building in the world. This magnificent stately home was completed in March 1901 and it was celebrated in
grand style.
Today visitors to the Vimanmek National Museum will find numerous belongings of King Rama V. The first indoor bathroom of Thailand can be viewed here. You can also see country’s oldest typewriter.
The most intriguing feature of Vimanmek Mansion is that it was built completely with the use of golden teakwood. The mansion was built without the use of a single nail.
