The Special Care
Centre (SCC) is an accredited organisation that is registered with the Ministry of
Social Affairs as an establishment for the care and rehabilitation of disabled people. It is
a non-profit organisation that relies heavily on donations and volunteers.
As a partner of
this organisation, we show our support to them through a number of activities,
including conducting swimming lessons for their students with mental disabilities,
carrying out Fire, Life and Safety inspections in their centre, hosting their
Fun Day, attending their Sports Day and Talent Show and lastly, inviting the
children to attend the Hotel Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in December.
We have
hired Avinash Mohan, a former student of SCC’s senior class, as a full-time
employee in the Housekeeping department since June 2013. Another student, Thea Cuenco, is currently
undergoing a two-month training programme in the Human Resources department. The hotel is looking at the possibility of
hiring her in the Hotel as a full-time employee, just like Avinash.
