Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou is located at the heart of Fujian Providence with two famous tourist sites, the Wu Mountain and Yu Mountain, around the corner. Fuzhou is a city with over 2,200 years of history. During the Song Dynasty, the “Three Mountains and Seven Pagodas” were well-known throughout the country. The existing “Three Mountains and Two Pagodas” are still one of Fuzhou landmarks.
The White Pagoda of Yu Mountain, one of the “Seven Pagodas”, was originally called “The Pagoda of Treasures for Appreciation”. It was constructed during the Tang Dynast Tian-you Empire (AD 904 year). According to legend, a pearlescent stone was discovered when people were laying the foundation for the pogada, so it was named as “Dipamkara Pagoda” which means the pagoda of brightness.
The White Pagoda Temple was constructed on the south side of the White Pagoda. It was first built during the Tang Dynast Tian-you Empire (AD 905 years). Today, it has been evaluated as a provincial cultural relic protection unit. An original component of Fuzhou’s “Three Mountains”, the White Pagoda is located on Yu Mountain. Its picturesque scenery makes it a great place of tranquillity amid the bustling surroundings. Visitors who climb up the White Pagoda will see Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou right across the road and a panoramic view of the city.
