Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian Collaborates with International Club of Dalian for Fifth Winter Charity Ball

Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian, in conjunction with the International Club of Dalian, held its fifth Winter Charity Ball in the hotel’s grand ballroom on the third floor. The event saw nearly 400 guests in attendance and raised a total of RMB263,825 for two charity organisations; Dalian Little Dolphin Recovery Centre as well as Rixing Social Welfare for Children.

This is the fifth collaboration between the hotel and the International Club of Dalian. Strong support for this good cause saw contributions from China Vitup Healthcare Holdings Inc.,Intel Semiconductor (Dalian) Ltd., Le Belier (Dalian) Foundry Co., Ltd., Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Dalian) Co., Ltd., Dezan Shira & Associates, SKF Wazhou, Liebherr Machinery (Dalian) Co., Ltd., ACOS (Dalian) Processing Co., Ltd., Dalian Hermetic Pump Co., Ltd., ZKW Lighting Systems (Dalian) Co., Ltd. and Dalian Tiandi. Tickets were priced at RMB500 per person.

Aside from the ticket sales, a charity auction at the end of the evening brought an excited buzz to the atmosphere. Auction items included premium international wines and yellow rice wine, the state-of-the-art ultrabooks sponsored by Intel Corporation and room stays at various Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts all over Asia, including round-trip flight tickets.

The annual Winter Charity Ball has become one of the key events in the city since its inception in 2009. Little Dolphin Recovery Centre is Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian’s official Embrace partner since 2011. Founded and managed by Ms Cui, a mother whose son was diagnosed with autism, Little Dolphin Recovery Centre offers support and care for children with autism and special needs. With Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian’s support, the centre was finally able to send a few of its teachers to Hong Kong and Beijing in 2012 to receive the training they need to better equip themselves in providing the children the proper guidance and care.
