Abu
Dhabi, 12 September 2017 – Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi welcomes
all to join them to celebrate their first-ever Lantern and Moon Festival from
October 3 to 6.
Held as a symbol of unity and harmony, the Lantern and
Moon Festival will feature a delightful street food menu, special performances,
lantern-making workshop, lighting of lanterns, and an abundance of moon cakes.
The mid-Autumn harvest festival celebrated by Chinese
and Vietnamese people, held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar
calendar, which falls on October 4 this year on the Gregorian calendar, is a
great opportunity for family & friends to come together and celebrate this
tradition with Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi .
Kicking
off the four-day festival is Lantern Tuesday at Hoi An, known for its authentic
Vietnamese cuisine. Guests will be
treated to a unique dining experience on October 3, where they can enjoy a
traditional lantern-lit dinner and upmarket Vietnamese street food.
Award-winning
Chinese restaurant Shang Palace joins the festivities on October 4 with Moonlight
Wednesday, a specially designed menu that highlights the best of Chinese cuisine. The chef will also have moon cakes specially
prepared for the occasion. For those
looking for the gift, these moon cakes are available to purchase
separately as well.
Celebrations
will be in full swing by October 5, just in time to start the weekend on a
cultural note. Revellers can go on a
journey through Asia at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi as the
stunning hotel will be fully decorated with lanterns.
The
5-star hotel will also host a street food festival across three of its
restaurants: Shang Palace, Hoi An and Sofra bld. Priced at AED 230++ per person, the buffet
will feature popular dishes from the region like Beijing duck, Singapore chili
crab, steamed lobster, sea bass wrapped in banana leaf, Vietnamese coconut prawns,
crab dumplings and Wagyu black pepper beef.
Revelries
come to an end on Friday, October 6, with a full day of fun activities for
families and friends to enjoy starting with the all-day brunch from 12.30pm
until 10.30pm, inclusive of beach and pool access. The lavish brunch spread will also be
available across the three restaurants – Shang Palace, Hoi An and Sofra bld –
for AED 260++ per adult and AED 90++ per child below 12 years (food and soft
beverages).
Chefs
at all the restaurants will also host cooking classes on the day with a focus
on Asian cuisine, while younger guests can take part in cupcake decorating and
lantern building. At sunset, every one at
the hotel will be asked to join the staff members to release floating lanterns
together.
