Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong has opened its new Celebrations Room on Lower Level II. As the name suggests, the room is ‘the place’ where hotel’s wedding and event experts meet with guests, understand their needs and help them start planning their celebrations. The five-star comfort and privacy of the Celebrations Room allows guests to visualise the celebration of their special occasion at the hotel through visual aids and selected real products, followed by a venue inspection.
Open daily, the 80-square-metre (or 890-square-feet) Celebrations Room is strategically laid out in three main sections – reception, sitting lounge and meeting room – with window showcases to display what the hotel has in store for celebrants and their guests. Its table setups include, but are not limited to, stylish silver and precious bone china tableware, flatware, glassware, a myriad table linen designs, seat covers and centrepieces. A multi-tier wedding cake mock-up is beautifully decorated and exhibited right at the entrance.
When guests enter the room, they can breathe in the air of happiness, elegance and sophistication. Behind the window display is a stretch of see-through floral screens made with laser-cut copper foil laminated with glass. The soft hue of champagne gold, bronze and beige harmonises with the wall lights to achieve an ambience that blends classic Chinese with contemporary design and lends an aura of deluxe comfort to the Celebrations Room. Eye-catching lotus and beauteous flower motifs are pleasingly depicted on the plush carpeting flooring, fabric-padded walls and wall papers around the room. The art deco, British-style furniture made with European fabrics and Oriental patterns, heightens the East-meets-West feel of the room.
The Celebrations Room is fully equipped with a range of features and facilities, such as built-in audiovisual equipment, wireless broadband and MD/CD/DVD decks. The two 40-inch LED televisions in both the sitting lounge and the meeting room present a display of different room and table settings, decorations, seating plans, menus with pictures of all dishes to be served, bridal rooms and guest rooms, to name a few.
The soundproof meeting room allows private discussions between the guests and event experts. There is easy access to the linen showcase from the sitting lounge or the meeting room, allowing guests to choose their preferred table linen and seat covers. The versatile Celebrations Room is similar to a big showcase that presents everything guests should expect.
