Musical Afternoon Tea with The Harvard Krokodiloes at The Lobby Lounge Pudong Shangri-La East Shanghai

Krok

Harvard University’s most prestigious a cappella group returns to serenade the crowd once again in Shanghai, performing at The Lobby Lounge of Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on 28 & 29 June, 2014, priced at RMB328+15% service charge.  This is part of the group’s 30th annual Summer World Tour, which it has conducted, to much fan fare for the past two decades.

The Krokodiloes is Harvard University's oldest a cappella singing group. Although conflicting versions of the group's origins exist, the most popular version is that it was founded as a quartet in the spring of 1946 by David Binger (A.B. 1948) and Arthur Boylston Nichols III (A.B. 1948). Made up of 12 tuxedo-clad undergraduates singing jazz, swing and ballads, the group has performed for royalty, presidents and ambassadors all over the world.

Guests can expect a polished, professional evening of entertainment, fine-tuned over the course of performing more than 200 concerts every year. The Harvard Krokodiloes’ repertoire ranges from jazz and swing standards of the Golden Age of American music to traditional ballads and rock numbers from the 50s.  A number of the songs are punctuated by the group’s signature choreography, as well as its wit and humour.

Located on level one of the River Wing, the Lobby Lounge is renowned for its gracious and impeccable service and comfortable environment. Committed to offering guests the best service and facilities, the Lobby Lounge underwent redecoration in early 2012 and reopened in April 2012.

The renewed Lobby Lounge looks more atmospheric, modern and luxurious.  The grand marble columns and magnificent chandeliers have been retained and, with new furniture, the lounge exudes a sense of classic elegance.  The Bund can be seen through the full-length glass walls, which allow natural sunlight to filter through the entire lobby, creating a warm radiance.

Experience delightful afternoon tea artistry with our “Experience” Afternoon Tea is priced at Rmb328 while the Golden Cage Afternoon Tea is at Rmb228 plus 15 per cent surcharge per person. Accommodating up to 100 guests, the Lobby Lounge atmosphere is enhanced with the presence of a pianist from Mondays to Saturdays. For reservations, please call (86 21) 6882 6888.
