Al Husn Resort & Spa has appointed Milan Drager as General Manager of
Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa. With 20 years of experience in the
industry, the German national joins the team to lead the repositioning of the
iconic Muscat hotel after more than a decade in operation.
New to the Middle East,
Drager joins from Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, the 565-room luxury city hotel,
where he was Resident Manager since 2014. In his new role, he will oversee the
repositioning of Shangri-La Al Husn Hotel as a standalone hotel, differentiated
from nearby sister properties, Al Waha Hotel and Al Bandar Hotel, which
comprise Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa.
As General Manager of
Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa, Drager holds full responsibility for
financial results and operational resources. With a proven track record in
rebranding and repositioning hotels, he has the skill set to take Shangri-La Al
Husn Resort & Spa to new levels of luxury.
Drager commented on his

Previously, he worked with
other luxury hotel brands including Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Ritz
Carlton Hotels, and Mandarin Oriental Hotels across markets as diverse as
Switzerland, California, Spain, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Australia and Asia.
In 2011 Drager graduated
from École Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland with an executive MBA, which
led to his appointment with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as EAM at the Tokyo
flagship property. From there he joined the taskforce to assist in the opening
of Shangri-La Residences Yangon, followed by the re-branding of Sule
Shangri-La, Yangon, both in Myanmar.
With a proven track record
in effective hotel management, Drager applies focus to value adding and
implementing success strategies. His areas of expertise include project
management, change management, strategic management, pre-openings and
implementing standards and values.
