With an investment totaling more than P4 million in equipment and system upgrade to accommodate this new process, the paperless check-in and check-out system is made even more seamless and cost-effective with a drastic decrease in the consumption of resources.
In line with Makati Shangri-La, Manila’s efforts to support the environment through the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), this new technology easily allows guests to access their stay details with a click on a tablet computer, while checking in and out of the hotel can be done simply by signing on the tablet using a stylus. The guest receives the billing receipt electronically via e-mail for reference. This new paperless check-in and check-out system allows the hotel to save on its yearly paper consumption of more than 200 reams of registration cards and more than 800 reams of guest folios, translating to an estimated saving of P1.2 million.
